Police probe mysterious murder of a South Korean

BANGKOK: -- The national deputy police chief, Pol Gen Chalermkiat Srivorakhan, visited the crime scene in Chaiyaphum’s Bumnetnarong district where the body of a Korean national was found in bushes by a rural roadside.

The victim, identified as 23-year old Lee Jae-hun, was believed to be dead 12 hours before his body was found in bushes of a roadside in Ban Krathum Phra, Tambon Ban Tarn.

Mr Lee, said the police, arrived in Thailand on December 11 and he was due to return to South Korea on December 14.

The motive of the victim’s murder remains unknown but police checked CCTV footages along the route where the victim boarded a taxi from Suvarnabhumi international airport until he arrived at Khao Sarn road.

Police also contacted the South Korean embassy in Bangkok for the victim’s background which might be helpful in determining the motive of the murder.

I suppose the most likely way for a young fella to get from that area of town to Essan would be at the request of a bar girl. Shame, such a young fella came unstuck so early.

Korean mafia war descending on Thailand.

There was a story the other week of another South Korean guy who was killed in Chonburi, police said it was a mafia hit. This will be another one.

Could be suicide !,one of the most common ways for

Foreigners to die in Thailand, according to the police.

there are more and more korean gangs in Thailand ... many are into drug dealing and online gambling

Long way to travel for couple of days.

I've done Abu Dhabi - BKK & back over a long weekend. Roughly the same distance.

Hope they find the killer(s) and RIP to the guy.

Also hope it was a mob hit & not some random act of violence. Mob hits at least have a motive as opposed to some meth-head looking for his next fix.

Really, personally I wouldn't go anywhere that far for a break unless it was for at least a week.

A mystery, I wonder how much money he had on him, maybe a delivery to Kowsan Rd, maybe then picked up girl to go holiday or maybe a deposit to the grave gang hit for something gone wrong.

3 days makes this sound like foul play amongst the under world.

Any idea what they are doing here? Obviously something to do with tourist areas.
