CityNews – A gunfight at Suandok Villa in Chiang Rai left one person dead after a drugs bust went wrong on March 22.

Police arranged to buy drugs from 44-year-old Lortu Yalgoo in a sting operation. When the police made themselves apparent, the dealer pulled out a gun and shot at police while trying to escape in his pickup truck.

Maybe they called it botched because they believe the police should have had their guns out and disarmed the fellow before he had a chance to pull a gun and shoot at them. The police are fortunate that he didn't kill one of them.

Well not a complete disaster, no innocent bystanders or police hurt and justice meted out.
