Viral Video Leads Police to Alleged Ringleader of Minor Sex Ring

BURIRAM — A video shared on social media as a "cat fight" between teen girls led to the arrest of a 21-year-old woman suspected of running an underage prostitution ring, police said Monday.

After video surfaced of a woman and several accomplices beating a girl later identified as a 14-year-old student in Buriram province, her family told police the beating came from those forcing her into prostitution. Local police chief Col. Somchai Sophonpanyaporn identified the alleged ringleader only as Sawitri, 21.

She was probably aimed for the 'Thai only' market, and no doubt there are some influential figures behind it.

Girls beating up girls can be found all over the internet. There are hundreds of sites showing girl fights and girl gang fights so that side of it is not in any way a Thai thing. The underage prostitution side is a different matter though and is rife in S.E Asian countries.

They ALL should be put in jail for a very long time or worse. The one in the orange was especially violent with all of those kicks to the head. This poor girl is lucky to be alive.

I hope she doesn't have any permanent brain damage.

I went through a similar scenario many moons ago. A Thai guy was looking for troubles, but I finally got almost killed by five of his mates.

I was already lying on the road but they didn't stop kicking on me. Was there, done that. But never ever again.

Never start an argument with these cowards, they never fight alone. And when you see these brainless girls, it's just insane.

Not at all surprising.

Just a small glimmer of real Thai society.

Never had prostitution in Thailand before so I'm glad they got on top of this before it spread across the country.
