AIS Bill - Paying it while outside Thailand

Featured Replies

I've just tried to log onto my AIS bill to find out how much I owe. However I am outside Thailand right now, in Europe, and the first thing it asks me to do is request an OTOP (one time password) to log onto my phone. Of course, this needs to be texted to my phone. The problem is, I don't have roaming activated and despite trying to activate this using my handset it doesn't want to register with any of the local networks. Is anyone an AIS customer that has come up with a solution to this, barring calling their contact centre of course? Thanks wai2.gif

I don't have a clue if this will work, but perhaps you might try while your phone is connected to a wifi network.

iPhones SMS's can go for free over wifi as iMessages, so you never know.

One other thing. I don't have roaming activated, but my phone is still connecting to a UK network here in UK, so perhaps try removing, wiping the contacts and replacing your SIM.

Tried on a WiFi. It actually demands you request an OTOP on WiFi for security. Am using an Android phone. Thanks for your suggestion though.

Awesome, that's perfect. I'll give it a go. Thanks!

Ask a friend to go to an AIS center and pay your bill for one or two months more than you anticipate being out of country.

If you go to AIS they will reduce your monthly plan down to 100 bt/ month. Pay before you leave. Once you come back, remember to change back to your old plan, As at 100/month the costs of phone calls is 20 bt/ minute.

To get roaming on the phone from AIS I had to go to one of their offices. It cost me Baht 1500 one off fee and took two days to get

If you have a Kasikorn Bank account with online service you can pay through it

Noise is correc. This is the easiest way. About 4 years ago you could us a credit card to do this but they stopped allowing credit cards from outside Thailand. Nothing like screwing your customers. Also roaming can be very expensive.

This is one of my greivances with AIS: I can't use the same U.S. credit card I use to pay my wife's DTAC bill to pay my own phone bill.

Thinking seriously about switching.

Can definitely vouch for this based on my personal experience a few years when I needed roaming access on my AIS SIM card while I was in France. I emailed their call centre and they provided this within 24 hours as I recall.
