nearly as sour as mouriniho, the best team lost - lol, jose is a loser, now he's a bad loser, just shows you can't buy class, and Liverpool are CLASS

Of course you can buy class.....................Liverpool did. Or were all your foreigners given to you?

It wasn't about the teams anyway, as much as the tactical brilliance of two managers. This time Benitez came up trumps. Next time just maybe Mohrino will

dream on lampwick !! :o

just looking at that oil slick of a manager is enough to raise cholesterol levels dangerously.

chelseas end of season derailment reminds me of leeds uniteds season ( long ago ) when they managed to blow the treble in the space of a week.

chelseas time has come and gone , all in the space of a couple of years.

its upper mid table frustration for you lot from now on....... and thats no more than you deserve.

Don't know if you guys have seen this. Following last nights game:-

Blues fan 'missing after crash'

A helicopter carrying a wealthy Chelsea supporter is missing after taking off from Liverpool following Tuesday's Champions League tie.

Full story: See Sky News

Rescue services are searching in the east Midlands area after the Twin Squirrel aircraft carrying Phillip Carter and three other people disappeared off radar screens.

Mr Carter is the founder of fast-growing training company Carter & Carter.

Faye Adkin, of Carter and Carter Group, said the helicopter was carrying Mr Carter, the pilot and two or three passengers when it went missing.

She said: "At this moment we are praying and hoping for the best."

Ms Adkin went on: "Phillip Carter was returning from the Liverpool football match. We have not had any reported sightings at the moment.

"We do not know where he and his passengers are. There have been reports that the helicopter has come down but we cannot confirm anything."

The helicopter left John Lennon Airport in Liverpool and was heading to a private landing site near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, when it vanished.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokeswoman said: "The helicopter, we believe, had about four or five people on board and was a twin-engine Squirrel.

"It left John Lennon Airport in Liverpool at about 11pm last night (Tuesday) and was on its way to a private address near Peterborough.

"It appears to have disappeared off the radar. At the moment we are trying to find out more."

The incident stirs memories of the October 1996 crash which killed Chelsea's vice-chairman Matthew Harding and four other men as they returned from a Coca-Cola Cup tie with Bolton Wanderers

Wreckage found in helicopter hunt

Rescue services searching for a missing helicopter, believed to be carrying a wealthy Chelsea FC supporter, have found a crash site in Cambridgeshire.

Police said wreckage has been found between Wansford and Duddington, west of Peterborough.

It was carrying Phillip Carter - an honorary vice president of Chelsea FC - and three other people from a European Cup tie in Liverpool.

They had been watching Chelsea play Liverpool in the Champions League game.

Mr Carter is founder of firm Carter & Carter, which specialises in vocational training, and employs more than 500 people in Nottingham.

A company spokeswoman said Mr Carter, the pilot and up to three passengers were on board.

The pilot of the helicopter was Stephen Holdich, co-owner of operating company Atlas Helicopters, of Hampshire, a company spokeswoman said.

Jonathan Waller, a friend of Phillip Carter's, was also on board the aircraft.

They and two other friends and been expected back at Mr Carter's house at about midnight on Tuesday night.

But Mr Waller's mother, Shirley, told BBC News 24 she had not heard from her son, a 42-year-old debt collector from Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, since he set off on Tuesday afternoon

She said: "Jonathan and Bill are very good friends, they've been friends for many years, and they were looking forward to going to the match. Whenever Chelsea played, they'd go by helicopter."

She said Mr Waller usually phones her every morning but there was no call on Wednesday.

The Twin Squirrel aircraft took off from John Lennon Airport, Merseyside, at 2300 BST on Tuesday and the last contact was made with it just under two hours later.

Extensive search

The helicopter was due to land in Thornhaugh, west of Peterborough, where Mr Carter - one of eight honorary vice presidents of Chelsea FC - lives.

Search and rescue helicopters, one from RAF Leconfield in Yorkshire and the other based at Wattisham Airfield in Suffolk, have been searching an area south west of RAF Wittering between Peterborough and Stamford.

According to Civil Aviation Authority records, Mr Carter is the joint owner of a twin-engined helicopter registered to his home address.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: "The helicopter is thought to have disappeared from radar screens shortly after 0030 BST.

"It is thought to have been somewhere near the Leicestershire / Northamptonshire / Cambridgeshire border when it vanished."

Mourinho: We were better

Jose Mourinho insisted Chelsea were the best side during their UEFA Champions League semi-final defeat to Liverpool.

The Reds came through 4-1 on penalties with Dirk Kuyt firing home the winner, after Liverpool had won the game 1-0 with Dan Agger pouncing in the first half.

Chelsea rarely threatened at Anfield, but Mourinho was adamant that his men should have progressed.

"I respected Liverpool always in my words. I don't need to say more and today I think the best team was Chelsea," he told ITV.

"It is a moment when everybody has to be strong.

"They (the Chelsea players) have a lot of reasons to be proud. They did a great run in the Champions League.

"We were the best team today, even against a team only playing for the Champions League.

"In extra-time we were the only team who tried to win, but football is like that and the penalty shoot-out is part of the game."

Alex: I'll win Jose over

Brazilian defender Alex believes he can convince Jose Mourinho he is worthy of a place in his Chelsea side if he moves to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea reportedly paid £5million for Alex three years ago, but due to work permit issues the 24-year-old has spent the last three years on loan at PSV.

Despite Chelsea's lack of defensive options, however, Mourinho is rumoured to have reservations about Alex - but the Brazilian has no doubt he can win the Portuguese over.

"It is always complicated for a Brazilian player to come to England with the work permit situation, but the Chelsea directors have told me that they are convinced it is possible," he told the Daily Mirror.

"I have accepted Chelsea's offer and will join them.

"It will be an advantage if the coach wants me, but I have always been a fighter and I will convince him."

Ranieri doubts Mourinho's future

Former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri says the future of Blues manager Jose Mourinho will be in doubt if they only win the Carling Cup this season.

"Roman Abramovich wants to win the Champions League," Ranieri told BBC Radio Five Live. "He wants Chelsea at the top of the world.

"Jose Mourinho is working very well but I don't know what could happen."

Asked whether the Carling Cup would be enough to save satisfy Abramovich, Ranieri said: "No, I don't think so."

As Mourinho's third season in charge nears a conclusion Chelsea have won two Premiership titles and the Carling Cup twice under the Portuguese manager.

But his team drew with Bolton last Saturday to severely dent their hopes of retaining the Premiership and lost their Champions League semi-final at Liverpool on Tuesday.

Mourinho's team are in the FA Cup final, against Manchester United at Wembley on 19 May.

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon appeared to end speculation over Mourinho's future by stating on 20 April: "Jose's got a contract until 2010 and we're not going to sack him."

But Abramovich was not in attendance at Anfield on Tuesday - prompting questions over Mourinho's future.

And when the Chelsea boss was asked about the situation after defeat to Liverpool, he said "The speculation? Again? More?

"I thought we had cleared this all up. We will keep going. There is always a next chance, next season is another season.

"I feel we deserve to be in a final, three times now in four seasons we get this close, we deserve a final.

"We are strong characters, but we have had such a difficult season ahead of this situation because of our injuries, and that is because of our character.

"Next season the group will be little different to the group we have now. Our intention is to keep a big percentage of these players, maybe two or three changes which is normal in a club like us."

I can't wait to see the Hammers go down this season, I will laugh my arse off, you all think you've got the right to be called a decent football club just because you had Bobby Moore playing for you donkey years ago! I have more affection towards Millwall than the Chav's of the Premier League. :bah:

We've always been judged on our football. And (admittedly) what little success that we have had hasn't been at the price of our soul - not that selling out the heart of your silly little Club has brought you much either. :o

But we'll be kind and take Joey Cole back when you IMPLODE

How do you know what might happen? In fact because your outlay is bigger than Leeds so if the plug is pulled you would be left in a more vulnerable position. You probably would have lower gates than they are having now if you went down. However what pisses off football supporters in general is that you've bought the title with millions lifted from dubious circumstances. You haven't developed sides built from the youngsters but gone out and put in place a team of mercenaries with no prior connection with the club. People are fed up with Mr smug Peter Kenyon with his outrageous price hikes and many old school Chelsea have started to watch non-league football now, fed up with the new regime and probably feeling a lack of satisfaction in their achievements. West Ham on the other hand do develop through their youth system and we have something called heart and soul. You are now just a rich man's play thing :D

That just about sums up what real football supporters think. You have joined the line of procession from Leeds - Manchester United - Chelsea.

No one will ever forgive Leeds for what they did - and still do - to English football.

ManUre at least have a decent youth policy and nurture players from their ranks. Their problem is with the likes of the arrogant scum called London Mancs, etc.

But now Chelsington, are as keddy has outlined, a bunch or mecenaries that epitomise everything bad about he modern game. There was a time when your support was fairly decent - fanatical in the wrong sense maybe - but at least had their hearts and souls in the Club.

You say that you respect Millwall more than us. Well if you know your history then it'd be of no suprise. Vis-a-vis the the old alliance between the three British team with lions on their shirts. And of course their paramilitary connection to loyalist bigots in NI.

But all this is neither here nor there. The fact that you now have support not worthy of the name and are just "a rich mans plaything" is enough to make you disliked, with no respect whatsoever amongst those who love the game. :o

Afterword:

my apologies for making an ill timed reference to the 'missiing helicopter' (above) . As it now transpires that it was a fatal crash, I offer my sympathy for a tragic loss of life.

I agree with some of your comments but just because we have been bought by a very rich Russian doesn't mean the loyal fans such as myself would give up supporting the team we have love. The fact is now we are doing very well the other teams around us are not liking it.

When we were finishing mid table and getting slaughtered by the bigger teams no one battered an eyelid. As regards to the team of mercenaries, again know one cared when we bought players such as Guillet, Vialli, Deschamps, Desailly & Hughes all the wrong side of 30. We have lots of money now and have bought well, young and mainly English.
