TRANG: -- Seven people were injured in a bomb explosion in downtown Trang province Thursday afternoon.

All the injured were later rushed to two hospitals in the Muang district for treatment.

The blast, believed from an improvised explosive device, occurred on the Ruenrom road or the walking street of Trang municipality which is about 150-200 metres from several government offices, including the provincial hall, the district police station and the provincial election commission’s office.

Trang governor Detrath Simsiri and Pol Maj-Gen Daoloi Muendet, the provincial police commander were among 100 policemen, military personnel and local officials who were rushed to the scene immediately after the explosion.

Police said that the walking street which is popular among tourists and locals was not crowded at the time of the explosion as vendors were still arranging their sale booths and stalls.

Earlier one day in Phuket, a bomb scare took place when Patong beach police were rushed to goods stalls in front of Paradise hotel when notified of the presence of two objects suspected to be bombs.

Police later said that they were inflammable materials attached with mobile phones and were intended to start a fire.

Why is Thailand reporting the number injured as far less than international media, is it something to do with TAT?

Two explosions hit Thailand tourist resort town of Hua Hin.

Bangkok: Twin bombs have ripped through a tourist bar area at one of Thailand's top tourist destinations, killing one woman and injuring as many as 20 other people.

Police said at least five foreigners were among the wounded.

"Police and security officials have been ordered by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha to hunt down the perpetrator or perpetrators responsible for the bomb."        They have to wait for "orders"?

Is it just me or do other people see a pattern year after year?  Something ALWAYS happens just before high season to deter tourists from coming.  Let's look at the last 3 high seasons.  1.  Koh Tao murders    2.  Last year bomb attack and threats  3.  This year more bomb attacks, and that is just the last 3, if we wanted to go back even further you would probably find this pattern continues.  Have you noticed that nothing major like this happens before low season?  Nearly always around this time, just before high season. It's almost like someone or some group doesn't want tourists here or wants to deter tourists from coming.

Reports on Australian media it isn't a terrorist attack but possibly linked to the referendum which was conducted under close supervision of the Thai military without outside moderation or overseers.  The referendum is being seen as corrupted and rigged.
