Expect such imports would be well above market price and slight transport damage result in rusting at the high humidity normally found here - Thai make water tanks of both Stainless Steel and plastic types of high standards at many factories here.  Have not seen steel tanks here for decades.

I seem to recall the same company that imports http://www.vineman.co.th/    fences from Australia had a display and/or brochures of the metal tanks at the architect expo in Bangkok.    I will agree with Lopburi3 " Expect such imports would be well above market price and slight transport damage result in rusting at the high humidity normally found here - Thai make water tanks of both Stainless Steel and plastic types of high standards at many factories here. ".

There may have been a 2nd firm with metal tanks at the Architect Expo. They had metal buildings on offer. I see the prices on both stainless steel tanks (certainly 5,000 liters is often readily available at a builders merchant in Isaan) as well as the prices on "plastic" 3000 liter, 4000 liter, 5000 liter water tanks on offer and in stock at many stores from Safe Tank.

I sent an e-mail to Rhino Tanks in Australia today from Buriram. There is a distributor in Thailand. I have not spoken with the distributor, but here is the contact information in Australia and in Thailand:

I must state that not all companies in Thailand respond in such a prompt and professional manner. If someone is serious about this sort of metal tank then I believe they should contact Mathew. I only visited his booth at the architect expo in Bangkok and I personally have not had a need for this style of water tank. But if the OP desires a price quote it seems simple based on the e-mail I received from Mathew Springall

"For quotations on Rhino Water Tanks we generally need the following information (or as much of it as possible as we also understand that some customers may not know all of the details).

  • Project name or reference
  • Tank application (e.g. potable water storage, fire water, water treatment etc.)
  • Model number from our catalogue (if known)
  • Tank Capacity
  • Number of tanks required
  • Location for the tank installation
  • Any height or diameter requirements / restrictions for the tank (i.e. max. diameter and max. height)
  • Steel coating requirements (i.e. Zincalume or Clean Colorbond)
  • Inlet and outlet nozzle requirements (i.e. the number and the size of nozzles)
  • Any valves that you want us to supply for the nozzles, if any.
  • Our standard tank supply comes with an overflow, a scour drain, an access ladder and access hatch.  Please let us know if any of these are not required or if you would prefer to go with an Australian Standard ladder which is more expensive but includes fall protection and is angled rather than vertical.

If you could please provide us with as much of the above information as possible then we will be able to provide you with a quotation.  Please feel free to contact either me directly or our sales and marketing manager, Khun Ja."

Mathew of Rhino Water tanks did provide me with a clear and specific price quote for my rain water storage needs at a new Isaan Village home. If I had a bit more room and a bit more money I'd take him up on his offer. I selected instead to have eleven 2500 liter sandstone Polymer Elixir Special Grade Safe tanks with an extra 2" brass outlet installed at the Safe factory near Korat. This was a simple option that was understood in English at the Buriram Builders Merchants store that delivered the tanks to my Isaan village home on highway 2229 near Khaen Dong, Buriram. I got prices from the Buriram Global House, Buriram IQ House, Home Mart, Thai Watsadu, and a family owned hardware store that had DOS and SAFE water tanks in stock. It was clear which store wanted to earn my business and could understand having an extra outlet installed at the water tank manufacturing plant. Rhino water tanks provide a great solution for water storage but for this modest village home the Polymer Elixer Tanks were my choice. There was money in the budget to give two blue water tanks to my Brother in law.
