Hi,

We just had the TOT network guys around, not much knowledge shared. They replaced a TOT ADSL router we had with a ZHONE ZNID-GPON-2426A-NA router connected to newly wired in fibre optic cable. The router turns on and wifi comes out OK for which we can connect. Also internet runs off an ethernet line OK with a PC attached. There are two problems however listed below, can anyone help please?

1. When I have an ethernet cable on my PC the lights flash on both ends and I am on internet, but if I type in 192.168.1.1 to log in locally as described on Qucik Install Notes I would expect a username/password dialogue box to pop up but nothing at all happens and I am left with blank web browser screen?

2. We have a NAS attached (WD MyCloud Mirror) through another ethernet cable and whereas it worked on the ADSL router before, now it doesn't. I used to connect to it via a web browser using a fixed IP I had set up before 192.168.1.105 but that doesn't work anymore either, maybe same reason I cannot connect with any 192.168.1.xxx address I try? The WD NAS drive also displays a power on RED status on the device, whereas if it worked and connected to router itself it should be BLUE.

Presumably both issues above relate to something with router that is blocking access to ports? How do we fix this? The TOT guys thought their job was done when we had a wifi internet signal so left us to it!

Thanks for any ideas guys?

I'd disconnect the NAS to start with, and anything else that could be getting an ip address, so you just have your router connected to a computer. Hard wire is better, but wifi should still work.

Power off, wait 30 sec, then power on your router, don't factory reset, as the factory reset doesn't reset to the TOT default. (I would think).

Open your browser and input the router default address 192.168.1.1 .

This should give you the login and password dialogue box. Log on admin pw zhone

If you can't connect then got to your computers command prompt (black icon) and type in ipconfig

This will give you your ip default gateway which should be ..192.168.1.1

See how this goes.

Thanks so much. I'm a bit of a newbie at this. Forgot about ipconfig! I tried that and it says my default gateway is 192.168.100.1 and not what you and the Quick Start Notes that came with it says should be 192.168.1.1? Why would there be a difference? Is it an issue?

I can now access the device with web browser, although don't know what to do to get the NAS attached? I've powered down, cables in/out and it doesn't connect to router? Any ,ore ideas would be very much appreciated thanks?

Is the router part of a TOT installation or CAT fibre installation?

I have a CAT fibre installation, so if yours is the same
, and you can post some setup screen shots, I'll compare them to mine.

Log on to the router and change its LAN IP to 192.168.1.1 (from 192.168.100.1) and the DHCP range to 192.168.1.150 - 192.168.1.200.

You'll probably need to reboot everything but then all should then come back as it was.

Assuming you are using Windows, with your new router it's probably being seen as a new network and your MyCloud will not be recognized unless Windows is set "for your PC to be Discoverable"....or it's also called setup as "Private" network versus Public network.   A lot of times when you make a connection to a new router Windows will even ask you if you want to make identify this a Private or Public and recommend Private if it's a network in your home....this will make other device Discoverable on your network....it only asks you this on the initial connection....if you don't select the right one you have to manually make the change.

This has to do with Windows settings and not router settings.    I went through the same thing very recently when starting to use two new routers/access points and my WyCloud was also not being seen.  Few seconds to change the Windows settings (in Win 10 its super esay) and MyCloud was being seen again.

Appreciate all the help guys. I think I solved it now. Its a TOT (not CAT) router.

First the router LAN IP was 192.168.100.1 so I didn't know til I did ipconfig (which the first post reply by Carlyai helped me with thanks!). Then i could see what was going on.

Then I just moved my NAS closer and with new ethernet cable to the router, even tho it has worked fine for couple years with old router where it was with old cable, and now it started working! I can see the new IP address of the NAS from the router logon and also it appears in Win10 when I enable network discoverable as posted by Pib thanks,

I will try Crossy tip a bit later, but as long as I can access NAS again that is great for now, so thanks to all.

BTW we got a free upgrade from 10mbps/1mbps ADSL TOT which came with free TOT IPTV service to what appears to be 15mbps/2mbps Fibre optic and no TOT IPTV which we never use anyway. Apparently it will cost the same 599THB/m. I suppose there is a possibility now to have much higher download speeds with fibre if we upgrade again and pay more, but we find Kodi runs well enough as it is.
