How did they check the sound level, as I doubt the traffic policeman carried a decibel meter with him.

It IS possible though, There is a decible meter app for the iPhone. I have had it on mine since the original iPhone...

You have to say: "Farang is always GUILTY."

It is what the RTP says. "If farang not come to Thailand it never happen"!!!

I think attitude has a lot to do with it, I recall in the original post the guy stated that it was stock from the factory,

but the cop went to a cycle shop and was told it was not factory... I have had 2 run ins with Thai police in the Bangkok area, the first I made a wrong turn and ended up at a toll booth on Ram Inthra, I saw the no MC signs but did not want to turn around and go the wrong way on 1 way ramp. The cop asked for my license, then explained the fine is 2000 Baht, I used the "dumb elderly farang" excuse politely, he never looked at my (expired) Int'l license asked for 1000 Baht then escorted me to the mall where I was to meet a friend. The second time I was riding on Rachadaphisek and used the (No MC) underpass, & my friend refused to wear a helmet, they had a checkpoint and the cop took my license sent me to the station a block away I was fined 200 Baht then went on my way. everything was no hastle, I knew I was wrong, I use the underpass often, knowing it was no MC my friend, took off, (she worked on soi cowboy & did not want to be asked any questions) the cop returned my (again still expired) license and I went on my way.

No need to scratch your head never once said I agree with the police, I stated the guy is a liar and deserves everything he got and possibly a bit more.

What did he lie about? You mean the exhaust pipe that is probably from the factory, witch the police had no clue about, nor tested the Db, and proceeded to charge him for it, then threaten him about it?

What did he lie about?

It is the same joke, I am one that refers to x-mas as "greed day" the merchants holiday, I refuse to participate in it.

From his own mouth in the origional post

"I feel bad and I'd like to apologize to the police,” he said in his latest video.

“If you’re thinking about enhancing your exhaust pipe, don't do it. It disturbs other people."

I am thinking the guy may have purchased the MC from a shop, the shop modified the exhaust and the guy did not pay attention.

Or the guy tried to tell the cop a BS story.

(trying to think positive here)

Dude, did you even look at the bike in question? Did you even look at the exhaust in question?

Do you think an apology, under threat of RTP, is an apology in its best & most honest form?

Why the hell are you so ready to hang him high?

Alright, to those who said to deport him or his stay would be shorten, how do you deport a Thai citizen? To @rijb, he actually WAS a monk. He completed his ceremony in los Angeles and served a majority of his monkhood in Chicago before moving to Khon Kaen with his Thai dad. And for the individual who was saying he's just looking foor www fame, I think it was mook23, you should check out his youlike page. Most of his videos have over 100,000+ views, a majority are viewed within hours. I know him personally and he does tend to get a little hot headed. At least he took some good advice.

Later, the officer checked with a motorcycle shop and found that the motorcycle model that the foreign man owns is sold with an exhaust pipe different from the loud one that got him in trouble.

Yeah right. Like a Thai cop is actually going to bother visiting the shop where the guy got the bike, after inquiring where he bought it and take a break from issuing tickets in order to compare the exhausts and even determine, which one is louder when measured in decibels, and that is assuming that the average Thai policeman knows what a decibel is.

Typical Thai cop bs.

He is Luk Khreung, like it or not.

I know many farangs who have kids with Thais, and they are NOT classed as Thai, even by their classmates.

Now that you mention it, I do recall him saying he didn't have the bike more than hour or so and the muffler fell off due to some bad wielding and that they had to swap the muffler. I'll call and check with him.

I have already agreed to the over the top deport him coments. But I have just read he actually gets paid for this you tube blog thing he has and apparently the more people look the more he gets so I read. In which case the little lie he made comes more into focus and I can't help wondering if he should not be fined a lot more or even asked or made to donate the extra money he made from this lie to a charity of some sort. food for thought

Its not over the top to suggest he should be deported, if he doesn't have a working visa he should be deported as running a website or having a YouTube channel where he gets paid is working and he's doing this in Thailand.

You realize he is a Thai Citizen & American Citizen right?

Also, so what if he wasn't, having a youtube channel is illegal? You need a working visa for a youtube channel?

Geeez
