Not a smart idea to break through a checkpoint with a truck after the latest terror attack in Germany which has made headlines even in Thailand.

I doubt very much if the Thai police even thought about a terror attack in this case.
No large groups of people around that area.

Constant traffic queues, plus Big C and its mall. Enough, I should think.

Checkpoint running is virtually a national sport in Thailand.

This is the first contender in the Heavyweight Division that I have become aware of.

Probably more than Germans and French know about the 10000 or so murdered in the Southern Insurgency. over the last decade.

Much more likely to have been a drug shipment that the cops knew about.

Truck driver Ekkaphot Yossiri, 27, is apprehended by members of the public after he caused a major pile-up on Sukhumvit Soi 63 in Bangkok yesterday.

BANGKOK: -- A SIX-WHEEL truck driver, allegedly under the influence of crystal methamphetamine, was nabbed near Sukhumvit Soi 63 in Bangkok’s Wattana district yesterday afternoon for causing a 38-vehicle collision.

The suspect, who was fleeing after crashing into a policeman’s motorcycle, went on to hit 10 other vehicles and then caused a pile-up of 28 vehicles in a 5-kilometre stretch of Sukhumvit Soi 63. The incident also caused severe traffic jams.

Upon hearing of the accidents at 1pm, police rushed to the scene to find 26 cars and two motorcycles hit by the truck from the middle to the start of the soi, where the truck was parked after having run out of petrol.

Interesting use of the word accidents. He's damned lucky he wasn't shot. The police would have had every right to have done so, given all-too-recent events of which Yossiri is no doubt blissfully ignorant.

You don't need to see the video.      Check out the pic at the start of the story.

Another incident which proofs that "Speed" should remain a controlled substance.

As I understand he was charged with reckless driving and possession?
What about driving under influence ?
