I've ridden in minibuses in that area.  They drive like crazy and some of the drivers are super rude.  My wife overheard some of their comments when we asked them to slow down.  Disgusting.

The owner of the company should be fined big time.  Only then will these accidents be reduced.  Now, there no serious penalty.

Brake failure.

I beg to differ. If everyone saw the photos in Thai News article it  should be abundantly clear that that damn sharp curve is clearly at fault. All transport company owners should demand that every single sharp curve in Thailand be immediately straightened out.

And somebody tell those pesky power cable poles to stop jumping into the middle of the road....

You read it wrong I think

The pole was drunk and swaying, so the driver swerved to miss the drunk swaying pole,

better than just brake failure

I have to admit in my day I was a fast driver had to be as raced motor bikes but some of the van drivers I have traveled with scared the living daylight out of me to the point of taking up smoking again on one Hau Hin Trip from BKK and only me in the van

They do need western rules here fast

5000 bath fine for first speeding

1500 for second time caught

2500, Crush Van and 2 years driving ban on 3rd

Saving lives Matters

Then think of the extra cash revenue for Thai economy mucho lots to spend on new equipment to catch even more bad drivers

I guess another of my stupid ideas

doesn't help much when the van driver has been burnt to death himself together with his unfortunate passengers as happened yesterday
