I don't know anything about engines so I need some advice from someone smarter than me.

My wife has a little yamaha scooter that has trouble starting when cold.  

It's turning over so I assume it's not the battery or starter.

What's next?  Plugs?  Where would I find them?  Or is it just worth taking it to a mechanic and paying him to replace it/them?

take it to the shop, once it starts. is it injected or an old carb model

Only one plug.
Maybe dirty filter.

Maybe out of gasoline.

Local mechanic should be able to sort problem quickly and cheaply.

Thanks guy, it's an injected model, maybe 5 or 6 years old.  Definitely got fuel in it bit yeah buggered if I know.  Looks like I'd better take it to the mechanic then, cheers.  

...or change wife if she complains too much. My wife complained that her Dream wouldn't start ..... 10 mins go by, kick, kick, kick, huff puff still complaining.... try turning the ignition on luv, that'll do it.
