PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: -- Rescue workers from Petchkasem-Hua Hin unit on Tuesday morning found the body of a five-year old girl who went missing after being washed away by strong flash flood on Petchkasem highway in Bang Saphan district of Prachuab Khiri Khan Monday night.

The victim, Patchathorn Somwang, was travelling in a passenger van with her mother, Mrs Chanpen, a resident of Nakhon Si Thammarat, on the way to Nakhon Si Thammarat.

When the van arrived at Bang Saphan intersection, run-offs cascaded down from the mountains and flooded the road, forcing the van and many other vehicles to stop. The current was so fierce that all the passengers and driver of the van were forced to leave the vehicle to take refuge on the rooftop.

Oh dear how horrible, poor girl and poor mother. Real sad can't say much more.

Heartfelt condolences to the mother of this poor little girl.

Why is this in Hua Hin news group? Bang Saphan is a good 190 clicks south of Hua Hin. In the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan (aka PKK). We don't have may tourists here, and I hope it stays this way.
