csmith Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 "EPIC CENTER" ... great name for a shopping Mall
bananafish Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I felt this, I was certain I felt a tremor yesterday, but I dismissed it as I imagine I feel tiny tremors every few months or so, but yesterdays felt bigger than the very mild shakes I usually imagine I feel.
wakeupplease Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Shame it not in Bangkok and force ten, that would be a great story
arithai12 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 "Epic centre"... very good. A pearl to be remembered, up there with "electric city". Thanks for the laugh.
mania Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 I know earthquakes & I know building.... If CM is ever struck by anything sizable (+6) There are going to be major problems

Small/long cracks appeared in the paint inside my room.
IMA_FARANG Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Just out of curiosity how many small tremors have been felt in Chiang Mai in the last 2 weeks or so.
maewang99 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) ahhhhh... a nice safe news story. fun to read as it's even a little bit exciting. and distractful. because there is some other news that applies to Chiangmai and many places in the North especially..... on this same topic of Mother Nature's power. let's be thankful we are moving out of an El Nino cycle or the bigger story today would be the one from Chile.... and that of recent years in California..... any increased time duration combined with any amount of reduced rain plus ****any**** increase in sustained average temperatures.... and earthquakes, and tsunamis, are merely titallating in comparison.... they don't involve the 9,000,000 pound gorilla..... Climate is real. anyone living in or anywhere near a tree forest such as on the nearby mountains that makes Chiangmai so beautiful could be presented by a disaster. better to be ready and think about it now than have nothing but panic if it happens. don't live in denial of Mother Nature..... and Climate Change. only the billionaires can do that.
