Hotels Nakhon Phanom

What are the top end hotels in NP, please?

Bit of a last minute plan for this weekend so don't have time to forage through Google; hence reaching out to you locals!!

I've tried the "River Hotel" but 'tis full. I don't want to turn up there on Friday just to reenact some biblical story!

(Furthermore, a direction or two towards any Farang hangouts wouldn't be ignored)

Many thanks guys

Ubon Chris

The 2 most expensive are both part of the 'Fortune' group and both right on the Mekong river. No 1 with swimming pool is F. Riverview. No. 2 is  F. Kongview or  F. Mekong View. Many newer but smaller and cheaper goodies.  I dont know why u dont check Agoda.com or similar as they always show the most expensive 1st and recent 1st hand guest reviews. Locals will not be staying in hotels will they?  We all rent longer term or buy for our 'pussy'cats.

The only remaining farang hangout is a shithole known as 'The Dog Bar' between the 2 hotels which I wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy. The dogs sleep, rub there privates and piss on the tables and the leader of the pack bites any customer it doesnt like.

Just got back from NKP on Sunday. Using Agoda it said both the River and Fortune were full. Stayed at the SiamGrand north of town. It was just "ok". And bring your own toilet paper and coffee for a better experience. But not bad for a $16 room. If your schedule permits the River or Fortune Riverview are much nicer. Had dinner at the River hotel while there. Didn't seem to be that full. Have my doubts that they offer all their rooms online. Will never understand Thai logic.

Thanks again. As I was approaching from the south the first try was the newer "The River Hotel". Booked solid, weeks in advance. Next try was the "River View", all that was left was a Junior Suite which suited us fine as we had our two kids. River View is very well run and  our room was well appointed and didn't seem to reflect the age of the hotel. Had dinner at the River Hotel; great food and service.

Thanks again guys for the heads-up; appreciated
