Chaiyaphum family wake up to a tour bus in the front yard

A family in a village in Chaiyaphum had a nasty shock when they were wakened from their sleep early yesterday morning.

They had a tour bus in their front yard.

The Bangkok to Chaiyaphum service had suffered a burst tire and careered into the front of the house in the village of Sok Pla Duk destroying a metal structure the family had built to sell water melon.

The bus - that had three passengers - ended up on its side crushing an Isuzu pick-up in the process.

Luckily no one was seriously hurt.

House owner Thanwalai Kaewsom, 49, said everyone in the house was asleep when they heard a terrific noise. They rushed out to see their newly constructed 25,000 baht shop in ruins.

Bus driver Sathit Pharawong, 47, from Mahasarakham, said that he had a burst rear tire and lost control crashing into a tree then into power poles before ending up in the house's front yard.

All power in the village was knocked out as Nong Bua Rawae police began an investigation into the accident.

Mass pointing.......well done!

Have been driving trucks when a single rear tire blows out , I never lost control of the vehicle and to say that was cause of wrecked bus sounds like another un thought out bs porkie to me.  The loud report the driver heard when the tire blew, may have induced him to panic. He still had a good tire on the ground so it should have been a simple matter to pull the unit over on the shoulder and change the tire himself( if he had a spare and equipment and knowledge to change tires )or call for a repair truck.

I discovered an important part of that knowledge some years back. We ran a long-wheelbase Ford Transit minibus (with 5 kids and 2 dogs a Mini just doesn't cut it), these have truck type wheels.

I was changing a front wheel for the spare (which had tread) and had been sweating for a good 30 minutes with a long bar on the wheel-brace.

A mate who happened to be a trucker wandered past and said under his breath, "left hand side, left hand thread", grrrr!

And yes, I agree 100% with the above, loss of a single rear on an empty vehicle shouldn't have caused loss of control unless the driver did something silly.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Yep, I wouldn't have noticed there was a problem without the obligatory pointing, I often wonder if they feel a bit of a prat when they do it.

Sent from my SM-G920F using Thaivisa Connect mobile app

another untrained idiot strikes again.

good thing everyone was pointing or I might have missed the huge bus laying on its side.

i would be a bit concerned about my "25,000 baht "shack", come on you can do better than that >> lol

look at the other three perfectly fine rear tires full of air. (of course they have no tread.)

I was wondering, how much does it cost to have a Mercedes emblem put on your bus?

You gotta wonder if there's some guy standing behind the camera holding up a sign saying "point now!"

only 3 passengers?

Did they check under the turned over bus, or take the drivers word for it?

Yup, just another bulls hit, face saving lame excuse from an "idiot" driver! Life can be so cheap in Thailand. Fortunately, for once, no one was killed.

well, good excuse.....Probably because he did not manage to run away............

I would hazard the 'loud report' that the driver heard was the bang when the wandering bus hit the tree, thus waking him up in time to fully participate in the destruction of the utility poles and fruit stand.

Yes ,many years ago it was " Ok ,everyone look at the camera and smile ". Here it must be " Ok all look at the .............and after 3 , point "
