BANGKOK: -- The 9th Bangkok Used Car Show is being held alongside the 38th Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) at Muangthong Thani.

The event kicked off on Friday and is being held at Impact Exhibition Halls 2-4 by the same organiser as BIMS – Grand Prix International Co Ltd.

According to organiser Dr Prachin Eamlumnow, the total show area for the used car event is 15,000 square metres.

“Last year more than 200,000 people visited the show and more than 7,000 vehicles were sold,” he said.

“Consumers want value for money and are satisfied with the quality of these low-mileage cars, which have all been thoroughly inspected, making sure they have not been in a heavy accident. The vehicles are 90 per cent new and all come with our stamp of approval.”

Apart from being showered with special promotions, buyers can also negotiate final prices, said Jaturont Komolmis, vice chairman of the organising committee.

“We are joining hands with Krungsri Auto for the fourth consecutive year,” he said, adding that Bank of Ayutthaya is a major ally of the show and is offering financing services for buyers there.

All segments are present at the event including eco cars, city cars, family sedans, luxury cars and multipurpose vehicles.

A special zone has been set up for used big bikes, due to their increased popularity.

More than 100 models will be available from leading used car dealerships such as BMW Premium Selection, MINI Next, Master Certified Used Car and Volvo Selekt.

The show ends on the same day as the BIMS – April 9.

Never heard of a car being 90% new .   Oh oh oh wait .....how much is that Lambo and why has it got a Benz racing sun screen sticker on it ?

Have you ever heard of a translation from Thai to English not coming out exactly as intended?  I've never heard of so many foreigners wanting to do nothing else but try to take the piss out of Thais as I have here.

Never understand how second hand cars ,or even 90% new !!!! , are so expensive in Thailand .

That's called market forces, the prices wouldn't be at that level if buyers weren't prepared to pay them.

"...what it would of said..." .    Jeez!

You know exactly what it meant.  How about "nearly new"?
