Yes they exist in areas away from main roads and large filling stations. I fill my bike at one in the middle of jomtien Beach. Also, lots of small mum and dad shops carry whisky bottles full of petrol, for top ups.

Of course. One near me with 44 gal drum and a hand winder pump with glass measuring container.

I prefer them to the human devoid automated pumps now coming to western countries requiring a C C.

I prefer it, usually have a chat with the girl, some mutual flirting and talk about the weather etc, and she cleans my mirrors, and my helmet visor. I had one of the talking ones very close to my bedroom window in a house I rented, I had to get the neighbors to turn it down.

Yes there are several all over our village in Sukhothai province,  they usually just sell 95 gasohol in the ones here, that way they make a little bit more, some are manual with pump handles to a measured glass jar there are also some of the auto coin ones which people say don't give full amount.  l never would of thought someone would do such a thing.

There many places too that sell just from bottles, 1 litre at a time almost.

The house that the wife and I bought has a separate building that was a shop store.  We have the shelf racks, cooler and the gas barrel with the hand cranked pump with glass reservoir.

Hi Peter

We have loads of the ma and Pa shops with the bottles of petrol in racks. In our village.

its very convenient for the wife just to pop round and drop a couple of litres in the tank, if she isnt sure how much is in there.

But i often wonder what the UK safety people would say if they saw such an arrangement of highly volatile liquids on such display. they would have a fit, and produce a report about 1000 pages long and shut down the place immediately. Also if they realised that every house has a potential bomb in their kitchen area's.It makes me happy to know that i dont live in such a nanny state country any more.

We also have a speaking petrol dispenser in the town near us. I have, on several occasions, tried to strike up a conversation with her, but to no avail. I even asked if she would like to go to the local Karaoke with me one night, But i was totally blanked on that one.She also has the nasty habit of spitting out my 100 baht notes, on occasion.I wonder if the manufactures of these machines, make ones with a different language for Issan.

Last time i tried to engage her in conversation,my wife was with me, when i asked her what the girl inside the machine said, she said, "she told you to ##(# off, as she is dating an Atm at the moment.

Try 1,000 baht notes, she will dump the ATM in a heartbeat. I think the machines in Issan have subtitles.

I thought about that, but she wont take 1000 baht notes, there is no slot for them (hee hee) On the other hand, i could try one 100 baht at a time, but i probably would get past putting 3 inside her. Anyway if she's that cheap a 'gal, i think i will go and try to find a HiSo female toilet hand dryer, i hear the b##w job is fantastic and you come out with very dry hands!

You were lucky you got a plastic cup! I'm surprised they didn't pour it into a paper bag.Did you have to leave a deposit on the elastic band?
