Metropolitan Police Chief Loses 37 Kilograms of Compressed Marijuana

 

A police source said the marijuana was among crime items seized which were put on display at a recent press briefing by the MPB.

 

BANGKOK – The Chief of Prawet Metropolitan Police in Bangkok is facing a temporary transfer pending a probe into missing compressed marijuana seized as evidence late last month.

 

A total of 76 kilograms of compressed marijuana was taken away as evidence during a raid led by Pol Maj Gen Surachet Hakpan, at the end of last month.

 

The marijuana was found hidden in undergrowth near the workers’ living quarters at a construction site.

76kg were sent to Forensics for examination. Only 37kg were returned to the Police Station. Now I'm not much good at maths .... but seems to me that 39kg is still missing. Not 37

He's on TV at least 20 times every day taking credit for solving every crime in BKK. This little hiccup way up in the bush should be a piece of piss for him.

Gone up in smoke?  Im guessing it was someone really HIGH up.

Total misunderstanding, the original scale was wrong when we originally weighed it, we only found after after we reweighed it after the press conference, it was never 76kg, it was really 39kg, one of the junior officers forgot to correct the previously written down amount after we reweighed it.

 

I personally brought it to his attention, we should transfer him for failing to do his job correctly, as instructed by me. The scale was replaced immediately after my finding.

You obviously doubt the integrity of the RTP? This fine, upstanding institution.

Obviously the shortage can be explained in the testing procedure the lab used

to confirm it was marijuana.

Maybe he's "dealing" it to Canadian PM Justin Trudeau.
