BANGKOK: -- A road rage case is doing the rounds of social media as a woman went on Facebook to tell her story after her husband had his ear bitten off by an irate motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist had been knocked off his bike following a minor scrape and also suffered injury.

Police are waiting for both parties to recover before getting to the bottom of the incident, reported Daily News.

Sarutya Ngamsopha, 27, said that her husband was driving her and their child home from a summer school in the Sapbunchai housing estate in Samut Prakarn.

They noticed that a motorcycle was weaving over the road behind them and Sarutya advised her husband to pull over and let him pass. He did but as the bike passed the car was scratched.

She claimed the motorcyclist was drunk.

Husband Thanin Khlaiwichien, 43, was incensed and gave chase as the motorcyclist did not stop to offer to pay for damage to their red plate Toyota Vios.

Motorcyclist Luang Nonpala, 49, was later knocked off his bike.

He picked up a rock and threw it at the driver who had got out of the car. He fended off the rock but then a scuffle broke out.

Sarutya said that Luang then bit her husband's left ear off.

Both driver and motorcyclist were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.

Police are waiting for their injuries to improve before further investigation in the case.

good to see everything getting back to normal after the holiday.

I bet he had a right earful of his wife later lol. Or was it his left ear?

A motorist slows down to let a drunk guy on a bike pass.....haven't 'eared that one before.

He needs a wheelchair for his ear because it was too difficult to build crutches out of cotton buds? :coffee1:

No doubt he used his phone throughout this whole ordeal

Did they sew the ear back on or did the guy swallow it?? I to like a little snack after a bout of boozing. If he swallowed it does the trip through the intestines preserve the ear??

Glad the age of the car was mentioned.

Road rage in pattaya getting much worse and until moving violations are enforced it will continue.

This will never happen ofcourse.

Holyfield

From the photo insert, Thanin would have been much more affected had he have lost an eye instead of the ear. Doesn't need the ear to play with his telephone.

Hardly worth losing part of an ear (or worse) for that little scratch !

That's why I don't like owning new or expensive cars.

There's always some a/h who will ruin your day!

When asked by police to state his name, motorist said,

"Say that again, I can't ear."

Obviously not Buddhists - living for the ear & now.

I can't ear, I've lost my hear

I've had worse damage to an ear from minor sunburn. Did this boy need a wheelchair as a prop to help him deal wirth the excruciating pain from the missing .05cm of skin or as a stage prop for his appearance at a police station?

I also note the couple offer lots of detail when counting the bike driver's sins, but are remarkably restrained when reporting "motorcyclist was later knocked off his bike"". Decorous modesty has a certain grace. However,  the It's always someone else's fault line gets tedious.

Eat ear yet? The new national phrase :giggle:

Wheel chair for ear bite... ... the thai male in hospital. Always fun to observe.

Moving violations are enforced in the US but road rage still happens, what part of the world are you from and there is no road rage.

if the injury is hard enough it can mess with your Balance

Lets hope he is still no hungry when they get to the bottom of the incident.

The red plate is the red wire of this story. Red plate drivers are far more important than others,  even if it's a Vios.
