The Region 1 commander has announced an enquiry and ordered the transfer of five policemen after the raid on the Zad pub on Saturday.

The raid found a large number of underage drinkers and drug takers at the Khao San nightspot that also lacked relevant licenses.

Commander Watcharapong Damrongsri has set up a committee of enquiry to look into claims that the police knew what was going on and allowed it
to happen.

All the officers concerned are attached to the Chana Songkram station that is based just around the corner from the famous tourist road.

They will take up clerical duties at Region 1 HQ while the investigation runs its course.

Some 59 under twenties were in attendance and 66 people were tested positive for drugs, mostly ketamine, at Zad in the raid in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Transferred to inactive posts, yet more policemen in the inactive post room.

The reason they were transferred was because they got greedy, and were not sharing the envelope money higher up the chain of command.

The inactive post farce is being used, because while they are in there they cannot scam other businesses, so less money to spend on fancy cars, mia nois.

I think they are transferring people out who knew about this place and did nothing about it.. not the guys who did the raid.

Who conducted the raid?

If it was a junta backed outfit,  chances are that it was a legit raid and these officers have been transferred in order to legitimately curb the corruption that occurs in this particular police district

Problem is, unless their replacements are 100% virtuous or ridiculously wealthy (doubt either), then it's going to be hard to turn down those big ass envelopes that pass through Khao San Rd which probably turns over more $$$ than any other bar district in Bangkok.

An insulting and inflammatory post. You have absolutely no proof of your allegations. just a childless tide bashing.

Even if they didn't know, which I highly doubt, they should be fired................because it is their job to know what's going on in their district.

If all BiB were fired for not doing their job the whole force would collapse....

May be you are too long in Thailand, because I notice a Mai Pen Rai attitude on your side.

Isn't it so that it if the the police doesn't do their job the force has collapsed already in fact, and it wouldn't make a difference if they were still there or not.

The inactive post dept must be bursting at the seams.

If I were one of the Pattaya BIB and didn't want any duties while drawing my full paycheck then I would just find a way to be involved with one of the busted clubs.

That makes 13,786 police have been sent to inactive posts in Bangkok. Where is this inactive post? It must be a soccer stadium?

Does anybody ever get fired or lose their job for being corrupt? Do they ever return to duty? Maybe get a demotion? Amazing Thailand.

All true, I hope this is taking the rtp closer to a 44 order to totally and permenantly remove the top 3 or 4 levels of senior cops, never to return and not allowed in the building etc.

IMHO without something very drastic the sad and disgraceful current rtp scenario is not going to change.

Also sad, the current op cop is just spinning his wheels and achieving nothing, in fact rarely makes any comment. Sad for Thailand.

The BIB can't fire on of their own because the not out of work ex BIB just might start spilling the beans about how much bribery and other illegal activities he was involved in with his supervisors.

I am just sure that you got that all the way around. Think again.
