Greetings,

I would like to know if anyone knows the cost of spray-painting a car hood (in the OEM color) at a regular body/paint shop?

My car hood has quite a lot of chips in the paint, mainly due to small rocks flying around when driving in the countryside I believe, and the result I get from touch-up paint is honestly not the best, it obviously does not look very pretty hence why I d like to know how much I d be in for a complete re-spraying of the hood.

Thanks everyone.

How long is a piece of string? You can get 10 different quotes for the same job, only way is to physically go in and ask.

That sounds really cheap, as I m in Bangkok I expect it will be more expensive but thanks anyway, you re raising my hopes lol.

I dont have class 1 though, I was short on money last year and I had to switch to class 2 with bonuses, but unless I have an accident with another motor vehicle, they wont pay, so in this very case, they wont pay. I may switch back to class 1 at the end of this year though.

Thanks

I think Kwasaki had to be joking, at least there's a smiley face. Really, 3-400 baht to paint a hood? I know Thailand can be cheap, but that's a silly price if you expect a decent job.

Perhaps he forgot a zero. Do you think 3-4 000 baht to paint a hood in the original color would be more sensible?

Yes, definitely.

Yep !!  yeah there you are,  not a joke at all,   just lack of full info.

Up country not what ya know,  it's who ya know a small bonnet on a Yaris was 350 l gave him 400,  l took the bonnet off myself and left it with him,  it's a professional job,  he also resprays bike body panels sections for me.

His boss lets him do jobs on the side so he said. :whistling:

No doubt a proper auto paint workshop would be more expensive,  a workshop made minor scratch repair and respray to the Yaris rear bumper the guy responsible paid 1,800.

Not at all the case a excellent job and match.

I would expect ...at least around BK ...3500+thb for a panel including the oven. If 'sunshine' drying  a little less. I doubt that 300-400thb would even cover the cost of the paint.

It cost me more than that when they re-sprayed a rear panel on my v-cross ... it was pearl white

The place my insurance & I use is opposite Makro K.P.Phet, was just passing so popped in.

Spoke to the lady boss how much. Was quoted 2.000bt. Whether she had the paint Toyota 'White, Primer, clear coat, who knows. Turned out just as stated like new. & at 2.000bt cheap as chips. They also gave the lump a good clean.

You mean Like living in a Rice paddy??? Hold on a Mo don't have any of those in K.P.Phet. We are getting a new Robinson/Central to go with Big C, Makro, and Tesco does that count.

In the morning I shall be taking my new lump to have a Full valet. Under body, steam clean engine, inside every panel they even black the pedals but it does cost 150bt. Note to self must move or find something cheaper.

That's how my old grandad tarted up his old Hillman Minx. Was painting the doors and window frames on the farmhouse cottage and seeing there was some paint left over, did the car as well.
