He had a "small amount" of heroin. It must have been an insignificant amount (if true) otherwise that would have been the main headline, so bit unfair to nail him as a drug dealer unless you include flogging 'viagara' .  50 cops to catch him!!!

If it was him who had the gun and ammunition then that would  have been the headline.

It seems his main crime was to be British and tattooed according to some.

I must be getting old and standards have changed somewhat. 'Businessman'? I expected to see someone in a suit, or at least a shirt and tie, not a tatooed thing in a T-Shirt?

Thank Christ I'm on the back 9.......

British Business man ????  I was expecting to see someone in a jacket and shirt not some tattooed looking scumbag, perhaps a background check with the UK is in order.  Plus I don't thing police were throwing darts at a map for location or picking numbers out of a hat for the room number.

You were well ahead of me:smile:.

I always enjoy reading this kind of post with all the grumpy old men comments. I know that it's too late for you to have fun as your heart could break, but don't be jealous, you will be smarter during next life !

... it seems you've become confused and now see reckless disregard as the norm and common sense as grumpy...

@ bangkokairportlink - if you can't get it up, see your doctor and he will prescribe you Viagra... but not 20 packets, you may also be disappointed that he won't prescribe you any Heroin, it may be safer for you to obtain that in another country, the drug laws are too strong here....  I hope you are smarter in this life before you start worrying about the next...

Wow.  If they could only put this kind of effort into attempting to solve the slaughter on Thai roads instead of filling their jails full of 'evil drug users'.

As far as I know Viagra is not illegal in Thailand and thus being in possesion of Viagra isnt a crime. So I dont quite get it...?

Only legal with prescription?

Was this one of those "Gentlemen's Clubs"?

Maybe the raid was not about drugs, but more about what was on offer in the Bar/Club.

It reopened under new management on 1st May advertising itself as a gentlemans club.

Saturday, when the raid took place, was supposed to be a pool party which was advertised locally hence the relative large number of people there for an out of the way location.

Ignorance is bliss, eh.

and not clear why newsworthy.

VERY newsworthy on TVF. Might even be its own headline, the main focus: Viagra Found Next To Dead Frenchman. Gives a chance for our experts all to weigh in and our clowns to play to the peanut gallery. Hee hee! Just that item will prolong the thread many extra pages and get lots more page views & clicks.

I wonder how many of the police or politicians have those pills in pockets or at home, and how many are requested by their wives or gf ... or goat

Irrelevant and a straw man argument.

50 to 1...... Bit of an overkill if you ask me

An overkill yes but not altogether surprising. I think it is all about justifying their overtime chits.

When the place 'rebranded' as a Gentlemans Club a few weeks back and started advertising pool parties it was questioned by a few how long it would last since that area by the lake has always been more heavily policed than other parts of town - guess we have our answer.

I was wondering what sort of fool would be opening such a venue 'lake side'. The authorities out that way are barely tolerant of the existing beer bars scattered around their beat and anything more conspicuous and attracting late evening customers at times when most licensed establishments have shuttered for the night.... oh well.

Aren't all the Brits in Pattaya "business men, former SAS, or authors writing their latest novel"? Apart from the odd family on holiday (odd as in a few not strange!).

It must be the drugs that turn them into Walter Mitty; or believing all the whores really think they're handsome men!

I take it your not British?

Oh? Do you mean you doubt he's British because he saw another Brit of dubious quality here in Thailand?

No one reported that it was Viagra. It could have been any number of pills that are NOT legally sold here and in quantities beyond a personal use excuse. It was definitely a targetted raid and not a random one and a handgun and bullets plus other drugs were also found so not really a reason for poor jokes.....

Well, a 'businessman' in the Pattaya sense of the word I suppose, even in the distant view that we get he looks rather unsavoury. Maybe he was fed up with being followed around by store security every time he went shopping in the UK, so came to Pattaya so that he could blend right in.

Blend in as what ? A dope taking idiot ?

Viagra sold in the US (with a prescription) cost about $20-$30 per pill .Some coming out of Canada cost about $5 a pill so if you can get some here from a friend bringing them back, great.Any other Viagra bought on the street are FAKE and if you think that they work then its the placebo effect.
