"A RED-SHIRT leader has pledged to continue to fight for democracy"

When will they stop to pretend they are fighting for democracy?

Well said, most insightful / most meaningful comment this year.

The UDD is not even a political party.

There are no democratic leadership elections for any position, just selected by the previous leader, Tida, who was not elected either.

Even further, Tida's philosophies / goals don't even fit anything the red shirst / UDD claim to be.

She's a died in the wool communist campaigner, no connection to democracy whatever.

I disagree. Most ignorant and meaningless comment ever. It's ok for you hate redshirt but this not excuse for allow lie. Red want election. Is a fact. Maybe only want election because they know will win but still want election. Fact

Aphisit shows a cowardice and nasty side. He pursued this case relentlessly, till the end for years.

What kind of a human being would want another fellow countrymen in prison for saying words he didn't like. This is why reconciliation will never occur. One side is full of vengeance.

I would certainly not vote for such a bitter man.

Jatuporn showed his nasty immoral unethical side by telling blatant lies, and on more than the said occasions.

Sticks and stones, nobody deserves 1 year in prison for having a big mouth. There really Was no need for aphisit to pursue this all the way to supreme Court. Just shows how vengeful and thin skinned he is. How's someone like that going to run a country.

I doubt that Abhisit will ever run the country again, he's permanently tainted by the events of 2009, as was probably always intended by their  (still unidentified)  instigator.

But the same thing ought to apply to a PM who often used the courts & libel-charges to suppress dissent & free-speech, there wasn't enough of that here even before, would you not agree ?

I will not  comment on your agree disagree. I  keep my comments relevant to the person and topic. We could all go on about the rice scheme, current pm,  red bull heir, red shirt, yellow shirt. It's just a diversion for people that want to avoid speaking impartially about the opposition of their choice.

This topic is about jatuporn being imprisoned for a year because he had an opinion. Abhisit probably will never be pm, simply because he cannot get elected by the people. His constant blaming of other people takes all of his time,  preventing him from developing policies that are appealing to the voters. On the grand scale of things, jutaporn is a small fish. I cannot understand why Abhisit would gain satisfaction by having him jailed through legal action in this particular transgression. In my opinion, it is shameful.

Fair enough  ...  would you agree that the libel-law is often misused by both sides, to suppress freedom-of-speech, and that Jatupon's latest case is a good example of this ?

Let's face the truth, there are a lot more than both sides. In my estimation there are 4 sides.

I personally don't agree with any of them. I would agree that they are all using various laws to supress free speech. However, today we are talking about the use of the law to imprison jatuporn? So yes jatuporn is a good example of this.

So do you agree 2 wrongs don't make a right?

Has jatuporn ever used the defamation  law to imprison someone?

Can you give me an example of other people being imprisoned for the defamation law? ?

Because you seem to try to steer this topic to but but he. ..but but she. ..stay focused.

Does jatuporn deserve to go to prison for 1 year, for a sentence he said 7 years ago? ?
