August 1, 20178 yr Has anyone bought a Mazda 2 1.3 petrol / gasoline this year, especially in Bangkok? The car in view is a 5 dr hatchback auto Sports High Connect. Are you happy with it? How much did you pay? Any discount given? Good service from the dealer?
August 2, 20178 yr Good luck on your search request. I did purchase a 2016 Mazda 2 basic model with a couple upgrades and only 4,500 km. However, it was from a private party and it was a great deal. Do I like the car? Yes. It performs and handles great for a smaller economical car. According to the fuel related computer estimates, the car should get about 525 km from a full tank. It does recommend 95 octane as per the sticker on the fuel tank cap. The English gentleman I purchased it from bought the car from a Mazda dealer out by MoChit area, I think. With the upgraded seats, paint, and privacy cover for the hatchback storage area, he said it cost him approx. 530,000 baht. Certainly not all the information you requested but at least it's some positive feedback.
August 2, 20178 yr Thais are complaining about the new Mazdas. Apparently they have developed quality issues. One gent said his Mazda 3 brokedown after a 100 km and that was a brand new one. Others complained about continues breakages.
August 2, 20178 yr I have a new one. Got it at the car show last year. All the dealers give the window tint and first class insurance and other extras package but I only found one that also lowered the price and threw in a nice watch. They had some trouble getting the financing done in gf's name and wanted me on the loan but I refused. I told them push it through or return the deposit. You can guess what happened. Only complaint is I think the paint is not tough. I paid extra for the red also. Service is good where I live but I refused to buy the car there as they could not answer one question I had when shopping. Mine is loaded but apparently that does not include cruise control which was disappointing on the drive back to Phuket from BKK. That actually reminds me that the seats were a little harsh on a long trip but they seem to be softening up. I found the sedan with flip down rear seats held more than the hatchback I originally wanted so took the sedan. The next show is not too far off if you can wait.
August 2, 20178 yr I have a Madza 2 good car I love it. Wait a while and buy one 2nd hand the price is a lot better, look for low kilometers. I bought one at half of the full price.

Red is the intended colour. Its mostly for local/city use so distance comfort isn't a big factor, there's a larger vehicle available for longer trips. Which dealer offered discount? The complication is that there is a part ex. No finance involved. Interesting point about the sedan. When is the next Motor Show? Thought it had gone by in March?

I had a lot of involvement with the auto industry back in the days when Australia had an auto industry. One of the paint technologists informed me out of all the colours used on cars, red is the absolute worst in terms of fading. Apparently the dyes used for red are more subject to UV and IR degradation than any others. I suppose the evidence for that claim is all around us - how many older red cars do you see that look good?

Soul Red uses a different technology to their other colours. I reckon it will be OK. https://insidemazda.mazdausa.com/the-mazda-way/design/cx-5-soul-red-crystal-paint/ If the OP can stretch to the diesel model it would be a better buy. Lots more torque and thus better acceleration. Excellent fuel economy too.

March 6, 20188 yr I'm going to take the liberty and revive this thread from the past. Just wanted to share my recent experience. As the Mazda 2 was updated just a little bit for the Model Year 2018, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity of snatching up a 2017 model for a good deal. Went to the Mazda dealer in Rayong and test drove the Mazda 2017 Sedan 1.3 High Plus and was satisfied. For us, we had been considering the High Connect version however. After returning to the dealership, the negotiation began and after a looooong time, the Manager finally came and offered the lowest she could do: 610,000 Baht since I didn't want the film they use, 4 years financing, 1.69% flat interest rate with 25% down. And the usual 1 year insurance, 3 year roadside, 3 year warranty and 3 service intervals free. This was for Model Year 2018 however, as they said 2017 is already sold out. I said I'd think about it with the idea in mind to contact Mazdajp in Bangkok which is close to where we live during the week. Had an English speaking salesperson on the phone immediately and I explained her my model wish. She added my Line and said she'd get back to me within the day with a good offer. Finally got 4 years at 0% interest at 25% down + the usual. No discount on sticker price though. In the end, a 20,000 Baht discount over Mazda Rayong. Not too bad. So now, looking forward to receiving the Mazda in a couple days. @OP, what is your experience with the car after this time?
March 8, 20188 yr We just bought a high plus in January bought cash for 630,000 included insurance, rubber mats including boot, metal door plates and foot pedals, window tinting, window shades and all round styling skirt and we got picked up from home to collect.Sent from my SM-P901 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

March 9, 20188 yr Very pleased with it as someone said though the leather seats are a little hard but maybe they'll bed down after a while, we changed from an Isuzu Highlander so the fuel rate is very much an improvment., for the extra you pay to go from connect to high plus I'd take the high plus much better interior and larger wheels it does have a little bit of road noise though t maybe thats just the tyres. Highly recommended.Sent from my SM-P901 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
