BANGKOK: -- A 19 year old former student of Bangkok Technical College has been arrested for nearly severing the arm of a rival in a brazen daylight attack in Prakhanong, Bangkok.

Chayanan Khurasuk was caught on CCTV wielding a sword and attacking Phuwadon Sukdee.

A 16 year old accomplice who drove the motorcycle to the crime was also arrested yesterday. He was named as Chaiyaporn Phonongwa.

Chayanan was arrested yesterday at Phoonsap Apartment in Bang Plee. A warrant had earlier been issued by the Phrakhanong court.

Metropolital police chief Sanit Mahathavorn was at Phrakhanong police station yesterday to conduct the interviews in the high profile case.

Sanit said that the suspects had admitted everything. Chayanan, a former student at Bangkok Technical College, was cross after a group of rivals from Pathum Khongkha had stuck a sticker from their school over one representing BTC.

The two students have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and having a knife in a public place used as a weapon.

The attack happened at the end of On Nut Soi 5. On Nut is Sukhumvit Road Soi 77.

Yes, off course. Everyone can see that this is not right. It has to be an A3 sign in size, for have the right to use a sword in public.

anyway, remove high school and university uniforms, if they were all in plain clothes, there is no real way to recognize who is who

What about if he admits it and says sorry to the victim? Couldn't he just get away with a 500 baht fine?

In all seriousness, I totally agree with you nev,  he should get a serious custodial sentence for this attack! If he is inside long enough, he could study for a diploma while there.

These little punks are in real need of the Army's attitude adjustment. Better to give more tough love to them before another one decides to go samurai on another school rival.

The Armys "attitude" towards this is the same as the rest of the ruling castes is.

The ordinary people of Thailand may perpetrate whatever mayhem they wish upon each other as long as they do not challenge or disturb the established hierarchical order.

There is no sense of care or concern for the "Body Public", no sense of stewardship of individuals or (despite their rhetoric) the "Nation".

There is only the desire for Dominion.

Dominion by individuals, Dominion by factions.

The Army and their confederates are exactly who the kids get it from.

They should also charge the parents and send them to jail too. In addition, they should forfeit their motorcycles and give them to the victims.

Not if daddy's a policeman.

Severed arm? No signs of copious blood. A vicious attack, but only that. Obviously cctv footage doesn't tell the whole story, but seen so many inaccurate headlines in Thailand.
