‘London’ pub near Kasetsart University raided

Officials raided a pub near Kasetsart University’s Kamphaeng Saen campus in Nakhon Pathom late Friday night following complaints from lecturers that it is too close to the university and it allegedly used illegal promotion tactic to draw students.

The raid against London Metropolitan Pub was carried out at 11:30pm by officials from the Juvenile Observation and Protection Department and a special operation team of officers from the Provincial Administration Department.

The officials found some 300 pub-goers drinking and dancing. They checked and found that 29 of them did not have ID cards with them.

The pub owner was charged with opening an entertainment venue without a license and promoting alcoholic drinks illegally.

You reading a different story? It only says the owner of the pub was prosecuted, not the customers.

Was this raid a reaction from a post on facebook yesterday showing  glasses of beer at the London/Londoner pub?:saai:

It states what the raid was in response to. Is everyone struggling to read today?

That's what they say. But to flout the 'power's that be' order would be asking for trouble. Saying they acted due to a request from the lecturers would make them be seen as the White Knights :saai:

Why don't they just check all bars to see that they have licenses ?  It seems that most raided places are not properly licensed.

It does not have to do with licenses alone. Here is the combination of licenses and connections a factor. How they have made their connections and how solid they are. This particular pub and night spot had not what was needed. Therefore a raid was eminent.

Rubbish. I bet the brown paper bags have been a little light.

I doubt any were on holiday. It sounds like a pub for Thai students. And, as has been pointed out, the owner was prosecuted, not the customers.

300 people at this pub, sounds like a popular spot for the University students and the

staff.  Think the country needs a modern government  and not dinosaurs.
