CityNews – Police have opened a case against Warm Up Cafe Chiang Mai after an underage teen was found drinking alcohol in the club during a police raid on the venue.

Police patrolled the nimman area checking that pubs and bars were closed after midnight on August 13. The police checked on several bars who have already been closed down and been issued a 5 year alcohol ban. Several other bars were closed for the day the police visited.

After visiting the scheduled bars, the police paid a visit to Warm Up Cafe Chiang Mai and conducted an ID check on customers at the venue.

One male was arrested after his ID identified him as being under 20, the legal minimum age for all clubs and bars in Thailand. There were over 300 customers all over the age of 20 on the day of the raid.

That's what you face if you don't pay your monthly stipend.

Nightlife on Nimmanhamin is only a fraction of what it was, and it seems it will become even less.

A 5 year ban at Warm Up? Possibly the most popular Night Club in town. Surely something can be "arranged"?

Will it continue to be a good place to search for underage drinkers? :whistling:

There is absolutely no bar ban that cannot be lifted with the help of a nice brown enveloppe!...and btw, what about the skiny clad underaged, hawking in the gogo bars?

I assume there has been no problem with the brown envelopes from the gogo bars.

Someone can confirm this :  that to work in a bar you need to be 18 year old,

But to drink 20 years old.

So I guess that gogo dancers can be 18 years old but it is illegal to go to a disco with her to drink...

I've met 18 and 19 year old waitresses working, and serving drinks, in bars that were checking the ID's of all customers that looked young.  So I think the answer is yes.
