Teenage girl drowns in Prachin Buri canal

A teenage girl drowned while swimming with friends in a canal in Prachin Buri’s Kabin Buri district on Friday evening, police said.

 

The girl, Chonlada Chanram, 17, was swept away by a strong tide while swimming in a canal in Khao Din village in Tambon Yanaree at 4.50pm. The canal was bloated with floodwaters.

 

Rescuers took over two hours to find her body on the canal bed not far from the spot she disappeared under the water.

I know the simple answer is this Thai girl.

 

She probably would have died without drowning.

I really doubt the young lady deserved what she got and I for one am sad........ I hope that she will RIP......

Well lets say strong flow. Khlongs don't have tides but they are dangerous and when they're flowing hard they're f.....k....n dangerous. This time of year with the rains I expect it was on the f...k..n dangerous side.  100's drown every year in khlongs.

Any idea what school she went to? There's nothing on the link but what was posted above.

My concern comes from the fact that I teach here.
