Hello all. I'll have to leave the country on the 24thm this month, or in a few hours,  because of my visa and was planning to fly to Kathmandu. Unfortunately, did my bank make a mistake and wrote my first and middle name on the card, but not my surname. No online booking possible, because the information on the customer part and the one for the visa card without my surname don't work.

What are the chances to get to Phnom Phen and from there to somewhere at/ near an ocean if the weather's fine?

My apologies but I was sure I could take the flight to Nepal, 12 days with flight and hotel for 16.000 baht !!! It sounded too good to become true for me, Shitthee

Is there a possibility to hop on a van once over the border in Cambodia that would get me to the capital city?  Has anybody ever done that before and could give me some advice, please?

Any useful answers would be great and deeply appreciated. I thought Isaan forum is perfect for such a question. Sorry, Admins, when I posted in the wrong forum.

Please see attached file. including flight.................but I can't go there because a Thai Bangkok bank employee made the usual mistake. Crying out loud.

Can not help you there much Jenny.

In regard to the border crossing at Chong Sgam Ngam. These days it has become a very quite crossing. That is, not many people cross through. I doubt if one could find a van on the other side. Not enough people crossing to warrant one. Perhaps a taxi or two or a private car. And then these would only take you to Siem Riap.

I meant quiet. And it is quiet, except for all the army guys around.

Chong Chom Crossing 70km South of Surin is where you want to go. You can get a transportation from the Surin bus sation to the crossing for about 60 bat, its an 70km trip about 1.5 hours down the 214 highway. On the O'Smach side you can get a taxi, van or bus service to Seim Reap or Phom Pen.. Chong Sa Ngom and Chong Chom are about 70 km apart. As the other poster pointed public transportation of any kind to and from Chong Sa Ngam is seriously liking. Btw I just did a border hop at Chong Chom yesterday and it is busting.

Where are you located.

Chong Chom to Pnohm Penh is a bitch of a journey by road.

Not if the you make the driver go on the west side of the lake and not the east side. Grainted it can be a a 6 to 8 hour trip by taxi at about 5k baht from Chong Chom. The local chicken bus from Chong Chom to PP is about 350 baht.

Thanks a lot for all your great advice. I'll just do my visa run and might holiday in LOS.

A flight from Ubon to PP is about the same as a flight with hotel for 12 days to Kathmandu.

Once again, thank you very much for your time, really deeply appreciated.

It can't be that quiet at night when looking at the huge casino right after the border. Thanks for your time.
