Ongoing repairs of Phetkasem Road in Prachuap Khiri Khan will be suspended from next Wednesday to November 26 as rock star Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai and his group are expected to run through the area.

Supoj Sermsap, chief of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Highway office, said he had coordinated with the construction contractor to suspend work from Bang Sa Phan district to Muang district.

As part of the repairs, one side of road is closed and the other section divided into two lanes for southbound and Bangkok-bound traffic.

Supoj said he had told contractors to make all four lanes available as Artiwara’s group runs through the area as his supporters were expected to line road to provide moral support.

Closing the roadway for five days seems a bit much.

If they make all four lanes available to Toon and Co all other traffic will be backed up for scores of kilometers. Thousand of southbound and north bound trucks hauling freight on the main north/south peninsula highway 4.
