It would help if you told us a bit about yourself.

Age, interests, hobbies, etc., etc, and perhaps some background about your experience away from your home country.

We don't want to suggest a golf course if you are a tennis player, or the bar scene if you're a teetotaler.

Don't bother, they're all <deleted> and especially at the expat club.

When was the last time you were their?

Things have changed

I have met many people from all over the world

Not like the old days at the Expat Club

I should know after going regularly for the last 2 years

Go wherever people are doing things you like to do, golf, beer, tennis, biking, hiking, fencing, <deleted>, whatever it is.

There isn't a place where people do things I like to do in C M . I like ballroom dancing, square dancing, rock and roll dancing, ukulele bands among other such uncool past times. I'd even settle for a bit of taxi dancing, but google informs me of no such in the most boring tourist city in all of Thailand.

Join the big, big crowd, 'beachlovers', of bored people who live in CM, and every other city in the world.  If anyone expects others to solve life's problems, boredom and trouble arises.

Do you like to swim/exercise? I have always made lots of friends at health clubs because you see the same people on a regular basis and often chat between sets. Exercise is another benefit.

You are in the wrong place, why don't you move like you said you would some months ago? Then be happy.

The Hash Harriers!  It's quite a big thing in CM.

I think we mean the Chiang Mai Hash House Harriers.

Please take a thick skin and a sense of humour. If you are into PC and all other associated <deleted> then don't bother. They will let you know if you fit in.

Sorry to be so incorrect with the title.  I have a friend who is deeply involved with them (it) and bores me solid.  So I switch off.  Wouldn't be seen dead in that, as I'm dead lazy.

The Chiang Mai Expats' Group is a good mixture of interests, monthly meetings with interesting guest speakers, a number of specialised groups, such as photography, computing, rather large breakfasts, small trips within the province.

Give it a go.  You'll meet all sorts of interesting people.
