What's the state of play with the building on Soi 4, opposite the old Jools Bar, is it an extension to the Rajah hotel, a new shopping place or whatever, haven't been that way for a long time and keep hearing different stories.

It has been built by the Rajah Hotel along with complete upgrading of building on the right.

Big Hillary Bar/ Restaurant on ground floor + a few others. Large upstairs areas looks like

no takers yet. On the right "You Again" (old Tequila Bar) has gone back in & "Angels" (another Hillary business) has taken the corner

where 7/11 used to be. Rajah reception still under construction around the corner

Might get a chance to have a look around the 3rd of Jan.

I take it Annies upstair bar has gone as well, or so I've been told.

Surprised the 7/11 on the corner has gone as it seemed to be one of the busiest I've seen anywhere.

Thanks for the update.

There is another one across the street.

And a new one a few meteres down walking away from Sukhumvit.

The entire area is/will be under going a renaissaance. New hotels and bars.

I have good info many of the older places will be updated/torn down on Soi 4.

But, they are being replaced with just new bars/venues, so no need to concern about Nana becoming boring.

Everything changes but everything remains the same.

You are right.  Same people same action just newer venues.

Its fine but prefer the gritty older stuff.

Someone will be along in a minute to post that even nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

I hope that the Bus Stop stays as they used to do good food in there.

Really? I ate there the other day and thought it was some of the worst western food I've had in Thailand. Much better off going to Monsoon/Kiwi/Viva on Soi 8

OTOH, it may become expensive when the new construction has to be paid for...

I usually eat the fish and chips there. Well cooked, generous porions and not expensive either.

However as the last time I was there was in April so it may well have changed.

Should be meeting an old mate in Bus stop on the 2nd or 3rd, half the reason for the post was to find out what's gone and what remains.

Is the old Jools open as anything else?
