Son of Isaan

Featured Replies

My wife is from Isaan, Nong Khai and Loei.  Today is the 13th year since our first-born was killed in Iraq by a rocket propelled grenade in an ambush.  I wish the world was a better place, but it is what it is.

Lovely tribute. Thanks from Nong Khai.

A beautiful tribute and such a haunting version of "you raise me up", I would very much like to know who the singer is.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

God bless you Karl.

Sounds like Daniel O'Connell. An Irish Singer.

A beautiful tribute, the singer may be Josh Groban

The name of the song is "You Raise Me Up" performed by Secret Garden.

Thank you very, very much.  And thank you all for your thoughts.  I miss my boy.

Deepest sympathy from the Kort VFW Post.

The world would be an even worse place were it not for brave young men like your son.

We can never repay the debt we owe to them.
