Samsen Witthayalai school former director Mr Viroj Samruan and his two colleagues have sought extension of time to contest alledged bribery charges for another 15 days.

Lt Gen Kosol Prathumchat, advisor to the Minister of Education, and chairman of the investigation committee, revealed Monday (Jan 29) that the former director, his deputy and another colleague have asked for 15 days more reasoning that the earlier 15-day period was insufficient to write their defence statement to contest the allegations.

They need more time to think up lies, how to wriggle

out of the situation they find themselves in,just charge

them, let the courts sort it out.

Neither in the posting nor the report in the paper is there an actual specific date provided as to when the alleged offense took place  There was some babble about having 15 days to write their defenses not being long enough to do so.  Fifteen days would be all that lesser mortals would be allowed to fulfill such a minor requirement to defend themselves.  Privileged persons in privileged positions?  Rather reminds me of a certain person in the "government"  being "given" time to come up with excuses for having so many costly timepieces on hand, sorry, on the wrist.

samsen wittiyalai, with its supposed lottery method of selecting students, is known to accept bribes in exchange for admission into their supposed "superior curriculum". the bribery that goes around thai schools, both public and private, is appalling! it's almost the norm here. even the minister of education several years back encouraged tea money and said that it was necessary for schools to improve their facilities and staffing.

Bet they would not give their students an extension based on such poor excuses.

Wasn't that another principal who was giving a student or 2  the enjoyment of his extension?
