Video: Worker inches from death as pick-up mounts the footpath

Picture: Daily News

CCTV footage from outside a tools supply shop in Samut Sakon showed a Toyota Vigo pick-up mount the footpath and come within less than a meter of killing a worker.

The lucky man outside the engineering and tools supply company had no time to react as the pick-up came to rest wedged between a power pole and the shop clattering into two parked motorcycles and a bicycle.

Injured driver Wasan Prasatthong, 39, from Chonburi told cops he fell asleep at the wheel. His wife sitting next to him was only slightly hurt.

The accident happened yesterday afternoon on the Ekachai - Ban Bon road.

Bang Nam Jeut police are investigating and dealing with the aftermath.

Was she asleep too?

Wasn't speeding at all? Well on the way to maintaining their number 1 ranking for road deaths. Must be number 1 for the worlds worst drivers and number 1 for brakes not working! Safety 3rd.

Can you get a ticket for speeding here if your excuse is " I was asleep at the time " ?

The examiners must be sleeping too while driving test.

From the picture shown from the video, it is more like a metre not half a metre and certainly not inches as the headlines states.  Who writes this stuff anyway?

Gotta love these pick up drivers. Brain same size as you know what. SMALLLLLLL:biggrin:
