yes I realise given who we played it wasnt an exceptional game...but Im sure things will pick up and the team will gain strength as we go into following weeks

Looks very much like the same problems remain at Arenal. Lot's of nice approiach play, but lack of a cutting edge.

Transfer deadline extended - more time For Berbatov, Barry and the rest

The Premier League has confirmed the first transfer deadline of the season has been extended until 1 September.

The window is scheduled to close 24 hours earlier but, following normal league guidelines, it has been put back because August 31 falls on a Sunday.

The move has been agreed between the Premier League, Football League and Football Association.

Once the deadline passes, teams will then have to wait until January 2009 to sign players from other clubs.

we really need some new players..but even with new players it wont help much at this time. will take too much time for them to fit into the squad.....

Adebayor missed a ton of chances again last night. Those sort of misses might prove costly again this season when you are involved in closer more competative matches. Newcastle to be honest were woeful, but Arsenals passing and movement was excellent.

and yes, totally agree......they continue to be the best team, with all the ups and some downs, despite no trophies...for a team with such young players, and new faces coming through all the time.....(which is of course not always the best that the team doesnt get to build), but given all of that...great performance
