Never a right wing project, if you look into the details the EU is a VERY right wing project.

People that want out are seeking self government and a fair democratic system.

Forget the smoke and mirrors, look at what is happening.

Mussolini would have been pro EU. He was the socialist behind fascism.

Ridiculous article. From the Guardian, so any semblance of reality is fleeting at best. So none of these problems existed before the Brexit vote? I doubt it. Anti Brexit people are like anti Trumpers

Good article, and it makes the same point(s) that I have been making for a while.   The referendum was twenty months ago and the government seems not a whole lot more prepared for the conseq

Really referendum is irrelevant - the original is flawed in concept and basically the whole kit-and-caboodle should be thrown out... period.

Move to France while you can......

The UK is leaving, you are in terminal denial.

I'm not a communist, I'm a socialist.

Which views? Independence and freedom lol

Socialists are often worse than commies

Mussolini was a socialist. Hitler grew up a socialist as well.

"The tragedy of Europe has socialism at its core. Europe has flirted with socialism since the late nineteenth century. Nineteenth century Bismarckian socialism produced two world wars. Leninist socialism slaughtered and enslaved hundreds of millions until it collapsed, mercifully without a third world war. Yet, not to be deterred, in the ashes of World War II, Europe’s socialists embarked on a new socialist dream. If socialism fails in one country, perhaps it will succeed if all of Europe joined a supra-national socialist organization. Oh, they don't call what has evolved from this dream “socialism,” but it is socialism nonetheless."

150 years of failed socialism.

Amazing that some poms still don't get it. Talk about slow learners.

Brexit is not about party or political allegiances, it is about self determination and freedom.

Unfortunately not all UK voters can see this at the moment.

However they should live to see it and their offspring will benefit.

That's politics...

Socialism is anti freedom and behind the pro eu movement. Central control. They hate the concepts of freedom and independence.

They call freedom and independence people "far right" which shows how brainwashed they are.

It's sad that people would hate freedom in 2018.

Yep and socialism of a kind that is akin to the Communism and the none democratic pursuit of power and wealth for the elite.

"The preference of most people is to remain in the EU" is what you said.

Then you are wrongly assuming that the UK is more pro EU since the vote.

Look I don't want to be a pedant

I do believe that more than 50% of the UK electorate are not in favour of Brexit. Yes, many were not sufficiently motivated to be bothered to vote against the status quo

Also, after 2 years of information on the actualite I do believe that many that voted  for Brexit are now not so inclined

We also have a two year demographic shift

Finally, migrants from the E6 are running for the exits

I could go on

And on

(are you in Thailand?)

An interesting article, no point to make other than the potential impact of foreign buyers on the UK housing market. Will this get better or worse under Brexit, dunno and can't guess, but it's a problem that needs to be tackled. My suspicion is that many Brits will be drawing a direct link between EU membership, immigration and UK house prices and getting it very wrong, of course, you'd need to read the article to understand that. It's a very serious problem that must be solved because it distorts the economy and upsets the younger folk and the poor and makes for a false market.https://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/house-prices-increase-foreign-buyers-money-property-market-kings-college-london-a8274106.html

Only a Brexiteer could use such impressive and nebulous words as, if they have any concrete value.

It is of course how the hard right manipulates the lumped masses.

Well it is. No idea what a Brexiteer is. Such a stupid word.

Normal people don't use words like "nebulous".

Only the pretentious and pompous.

OK. You believe the >50% and obviously I don't.

In Thailand to douse the mother in law next week. UK in May.

Thanks for confirming, yet again, the direct correlation between educational level and remain.

To be more blunt, I have found your recent contributions here to be facile, puerile and ill informed

We welcome mature, considered opinions from anyone; particularly if they are backed up be research.

Agreed!

Enjoy your breakfast!

I hope the sun has his hat on for your May trip! Are you going for the season?

Normal people don't what! You mean uneducated people don't know what most words mean!

Educated people use common words. Never heard a CEO use that word.

Type of word a lower middle class person would use to try and impress people.

"facile"

Yet another word used by the pretentious and pompous.

Common amongst lower middle socialists these days.
