I heard rumors, that customs now are checking all luggage at arrival. Not that I have anything to declare, but wife don't think she to example can bring back her gold neck bought in Thailand without paying tax. I have never seen any luggage check in Bangkok myself in my almost 20 entries. I would imagine long queues at the customs if this is correct.

My wife is nervous about her stuff, some if anybody can bring light to the matter, it will be appreciated. Thanks.

Then the queues would grow back to the airplane doors

Maybe they target certain nationals from certain flights.

Thai people coming from Singapore seem to be a good target.

Too many luxury watches, LV bags etc. :whistling: (not purely a joke but it happened in the past).

And a necklace bought in Thailand is usually easy to identify and why should they tax it?

Where does your wife fly in from?

She will fly in from Denmark. Her niece living in Sweden showed some Thai news as "documentation" - but I did not understand most of it.

My argument against the rumors was exactly the first sentence in KhunBENQ's post.

But you'll never know these days in LOS.

I think the problem is with YOUR customs, when returning home! Do you have a customs declaration from your first entering your home country with the gold??

I'm never stopped by customs but they target for sure certain people.

People from Chinese/Asian or African backgrounds are stopped frequently and their bags checked on arrival.

Caucasian looking people are rarely stopped,

Yes Green one. And please don't take me for an idiot.

Get a grip dude, it was a joke.

There are green and red lines, but the color has nothing to do with whether or not they are open...
