uk parcel by parcelforce

Featured Replies

Not really something I would think about but my wife raised the following concern, her concern, not mine.

Her surname has her family name and my family name. If a tracked/signed parcel from UK arrived with only her family name on and her ID card etc has her full name on she brought up the point that the Post Office may not let her sign for it.

I don't think they would be so picky but just thought I would see what others on here think.

My wife signs for stuff with my name on it all the time.

I think her concerrn is the value at around 750 sterling, also insured by the way,  but I still reckon the name won't matter.

In the both the UK and Thailand, my experience when signing for a parcel with someone else's name, is that so long as the Post Office deliver it to the correct address, they don't seem concerned who signs for it.

Whether that is legally correct, I wouldn't know.

We sign for neighbors who are out,no problem,it saves

them, as the P.O. is quite a distance, they sign for us if

we are not in.

I've sent other people with my drivers license to collect items from the post office.

I suggest you use the name that matches the ID card, that way there can be no possibility of a problem.

I've never been asked for my id, also not when i accepted parcels for my GF, so i would say they don't care
