HooHaa
very well played by prayut and the junta, suspect there is some complicity there as well, but shan't go into details as to where. a hole card was played and due to its face value, no one can object. very well played indeed.

But this was all so obvious! Lots of us saw this coming - and we did not need to be geniuses to predict it (any more than we are geniuses when we predict that a certain SAD OCCASION will be used to delay politics for months - maybe a year - to come afterwards)! There is nothing clever about what Prayut has done, is doing, or will do. When you are a playground bully (with tanks, guns, and bombs) and all the kids around you have their hands, arms and legs tightly bound, and you have a POWERFUL PERSON in your corner - you can do whatever you want. Nothing clever, or smart, or astute about it whatsoever. There are many highly disparaging adjectives I could apply to such behaviour - but I'll leave those to the reader's imagination! oldrunner
Once again, Farangs, or non-Thai folks make it their business where they have no business making this subject their business. There is another song appropriate for this matter "Blowing in the Wind."

They have families here that they support. That's why Prayut is off on a world relations tour. The foreigners and their wares are greatly needed here. So it's everyone's business what kind of government will emerge.

Just saying, like... Right. This 'it's none of your business - it is only for Thais' line is the height of fatuous silliness. Some of us actually work here, pay taxes here, have families here, have our work directly impacted upon by the junta - so it is VERY MUCH OUR BUSINESS! Just because we don't have power in this land, does not mean that we don't have the moral right - indeed, the duty - to speak out against tyranny and injustice. mtls2005
The Roadmap to Democracy, evidently drafted by M. C. Escher. This, along with the first execution in 9 years, were quite the bombshells to drop before jetting off to London and Paris. I imagine he's going to be complaining to PM May about Yingluck's visa? Wilsonandson
The prime minister broke with tradition in linking the royal ceremony with a political event.Very wrong, very wrong. A huge mistake. This is only going to make things worse.A foolish move by the PM for all sides of the spectrum. 1

Can you honestly say that you have never commented on the political situation in a country that is not the one you claim citizenship from? To be clear: that means not condemning genocide, war crimes. and oppressive regimes across the world as well (This junta isn't totally there..yet) but where do you draw the line of "minding your own business"? I am a non-citizen, but I have spent more of my adult life in Thailand than any other country in the world. It is my home, and my children are Thai citizens. It is 100% my business what goes on here, but not because I live here or have blood relatives that are Thai: Rather, I believe that people deserve the right to not go to prison for having an opinion. 8

Popular Post Wilsonandson
Thankyou to Thaivisa for allowing such a delicate topic to be discussed. It's very interesting to read all the comments. Everyone seems to have abided by the laws of the land except one. The unelected Prime Minister of Thailand. I wonder if it is not him that is a threat to Thailands national institutions? He certainly seems to wield far to much power.

So who the hell are Thai's. Does anyone know? or do you mean those with thai passports like the chinese immigrants from the last 130 years, are they Thai? or do you they still think there're chinese
