Many , many years ago i bought a Yamaha from Paul Smart's shop in Maidstone.

Didn't he crash at the TT because his bike didn't have enough lock to get around the hairpin?

Million $ bike?

Ducati exotica, one of the 7 Imola 750 bikes hand built by Ducati for the 72 Imola 200 won by Paul Smart, and hence putting Ducati on the big bike map. This is one of 3 known to still run, Paul Smart owns 2 of the 7.

The fibreglass tank and seat hump and fairing have no paint on them.

That silver metal flake IS IN the glass!

80 bhp, power band 6-8000rpm, nothing below 6.

Oil capacity - 10 pints !!!

The guy who built that street legal TZ750 flat tracker replica said the power band is akin to a light switch:

“When the revs hit about 7,000, it lights the back tire up violently—and at the same time lifts the front wheel, pulling hard all the way to 11,000,” says Brad.

The original prototype builder Ray Abrams said:  “There used to be a quarter mile dragstrip across the bay in Freemont, and I took the bike over there when it was still in the road race frame and it turned 138mph in around 9.5 seconds, in its stock form. So we knew it was going to be a whole lot faster!”

Needed the same treatment the P51 got - chuck out the Allison and install Merlin

American plane designers preferred a detached turbo design of forced induction the 38 being one that had a turbo mounted way behind the engine for streamlining .. And it still couldn't match a Merl' for power ..

Check out the slash cut oval outlet stub from the turbo in the bottom pic' ..
