I have PureVPN (paid subscription).

There was just an update and out of curiosity tested their "Channel" "BBC" feature.

(I had prepared some login data long ago)

Technically it "works" but to me the picture quality (sharpness, contrast, color depth) is less than convincing.

Is this related to slow connection (adaptive) or normal?

I add a full size screenshot.

Click and zoom to see full size, it's from a 1920*1080 display.

Now I did a "HD" download of the same episode.

Looks better but still not what I would label as HD.

Murky, pale, gloomy.

I use ExpressVPN ( subscription ) and it works a treat ! £78 for a 15 month subscription.

Try a 7 day free trial before you buy.

I also watch iPlayer, ITV Hub and ALL4, the latter is Channel 4 and has a good library of stuff including box sets .
