Dog wars drama: Resident puts up massive sign to demand removal of neighbor's dog

A Chiang Mai estate resident went to the unusual step of erecting a huge vinyl sign to demand that his neighbor take away his dog that he claimed attacked his pet poodle.

The sign with pictures of the alleged offender and what looked like excrement said in no uncertain terms:

"Get the hell out of here! You accursed mutt!"

The poodle's name is "Mammoth" and the other dog is "Jao Bo" - the story has been playing out on social media.

Manager went to the Deeya estate in Saraphee to find out what it was all about and spoke to the owner of Bo a man called Weerachai Sriploirung, 38, who gave a different account to that of his warring neighbor.

Mammoth's owner has said that his precious poodle was bitten after Bo trespassed on their land.

But Weerachai insisted that while Bo did bite Mammoth it happened outside his own house after Mammoth got out in the street.

And Weerachai said that he even protected Mammoth from a further assault by cradling the poodle - for which he was bitten for his trouble.

The wound drew blood and after he had gone to work he went to get post-exposure jabs at the doctor's.

Still, Weerachai has paid the owner of Mammoth 2,000 baht for his dog's bite and has moved his own dog away to a relative's house in Mae Rim to avoid further trouble.

He said he had not even asked Mammoth's owner to pay for the vaccinations and follow up treatment for his own injury.

Mammoth's owner appeared not to be home when the reporters went to the estate as their side of the story was not reported.

More to come!.....Karma runs over Dogma

I'm guessing Mammoth can fit through the gaps in the fence and Bo can't.

I certainly can understand some ones dog driving you to do something drastic.

Nearly happened here also but karma took care of it.

Jumbo is considering suing the poodles owner for defamation ('damn dog') and also the poodle itself for having a name as stupid as 'Mammoth'.

Your OWN dog bit you,why would you expect someone else

to pay for the vacations, the logic is very strange.

To me its a bit "ambiguous" from the report wether he was bitten by his own dog or the one he was trying to "protect"

Its a pity they both did not bite him

I think Mammoth the Poodle bit him as he tried to protect him from Bo. Not his own Dog.

That's not how i read it.

If neither dog had been allowed to roam unrestrained outside their respective properties, this incident could never have taken place. Responsible pet ownership is not a luxury in a civilized society!

My dog did some damage to a poodle once... I was walking my dog on a leash in the housing complex where we lived. Poodle sneaked up behind us and, before I knew what was going on, my dog had it by the neck !! Luckily he lost his grip and the poodle, minus a fair bit of neck, legged it.. I didn't follow that up to offer compensation, as the poodle was loose and roaming the neighbor hood.

I went home and told my dog not to do it again, and he never did ?

Went to look at a rental house yesterday; it had everything I wanted: convenient location; high level of amenity; affordable rent; a yapping dog next door.  I declined and went elsewhere.
