Hong Kong celebrity "confused" after one million baht theft by lady boys in Walking Street

Aggressive begging...

Happens in many countries including the UK. often no need as there are welfare and charities that will help, often the beggars are just being greedy, can not walk around many cities in the UK these days without falling over beggars claiming to be homeless but I am sure many are not.

Saw one years ago with a starved dog in a door way in Oxford, begging for the price of a cup of hot coffee, young woman took pity on him, rather than giving him money she went and bought him a coffee from a near by shop, he just threw it back at her.

What makes Mr Chen a celebrity was not explained by Pattaya Update News in the story of the incident.

I have an idea. As it is quite common these days to make stupid people famous, he might have been awarded the "celebrity" status for being a 10 time loser  in the TV-show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?"

Bizarre story, who carries so much stuff around in a bag on the street, and since when do packs of ladyboys beg for money for food?

Either way Big Porridge will have this story either buried or resolved by teatime.?

Someone who doesn't trust hotel security.

In the confusion a bag he was carrying went missing. It contained 120,000 baht, 5,000 Hong Kong dollars (20,000 baht), a Rolex watch worth 520,000 baht, a gold bracelet worth 400,000 baht and three phones worth 50,000 baht.

Yes, that's what I also always carry around in a bag at 5 a.m. on Walking Street... ? - Why didn't he put the watch and bracelet around his wrist (to show off his celebrity status), the 5,000 Hong Kong dollars into his wallet (there are 1,000 and 500$ banknotes), while leaving the baht and two phones in the hotel safe??

What? that bag didn't contain the crown jewels and the blue diamond? you'd think anyone who would carry that much in their bags while strolling in pattaya will also have the above on them right?..

You would think anyone carrying that much loot around would have a bodyguard with him.  Something's fishy here.

same thing, in the UK get " b uy us a  cup of tea mate" or " Any spare change for a  drink"

Indeed, pull out a pound coin and you'll be on your way. Pull out a £20 and expect to be pursued further...

i am impatiently waiting for that Pattaya police chief to make an announcement on this incident.

the same clown who pops up from time to time who projects himself as sooooo concerned(!) about the image of Pattaya! this character who doesn't even show any remorse to someone who lays on concrete in a pool of blood, beaten by street gangs to a bloody pulp has the nerve to ONLY be concerned about the negative effects of these incidents on tourism, and nothing else!

Mr chief! put a couple of undercover officers  at least every 50 meters of your "first class family resort city" streets of Beach bl and Walking street after 8pm and announce THIS to stop or discourage criminals. No one's safe on Beach bl after dark.

These type of news of "lucrative" and "successful" muggings, snatchings  will only invite more desperate criminals into the city!

I don't know the accuracy of this particular report, who is saying the truth and who isn't but there is enough violence now to justify more cops on the streets after dark.

It's not 60's anymore, things have changed for the worse. too many criminals and some  of them are in ladyboy disguise and are attacking in packs violently.

This will be interesting.

Will he be charged with bringing the name of Pattaya into disrepute and breaking the social media computer laws (if it was indeed social media he used) by this reporting of a botched investigation where the guilty have already been fined and the victim is left without his property?

Or will he have enough clout as a 32 yo actor from Hong Kong to kick up such a fuss that the police will have to do their jobs and continue the investigation?

There you go, a pessimistic viewpoint that he was being clever and keeping his expensive watch and bracelet hidden while he was out on the p1ss. After all, it is what is recommended by all the long term ex-pats; maybe he was advised to take them off while out?

Or does the insurance fraud make for better believing?

God forbid any "victim" of a crime would lie or exaggerate.

The Cops know more then you and me about the truth and seems they resolved it.

Case closed!

Ah ladyboys strike again....now that is unusual in this "world class family resort"

Give us a break with your cliched world class family resort obsession!  Try to make an original or relevant comment. Even family resorts are different at 5am!

Police managed to break up the fight and fines were doled out at the police station but despite making a full report Mr Chen says he has not got his valuables back.

Of course he did and will not get anything back. The police have to get their share too.

No, they didn't, they weren't begging, in or out of your nutshell.  "Begging" suggests a desperate need for something.

beg
verb
  1. 1.
ask (someone) earnestly or humbly for something.
    "I begged him for mercy"
  2. 2.
ask for something, typically food or money, as charity or a gift.

How can somebody rent a gang (bang) of ladyboys if they don't bring their money?

Who the hell gets "confused" after losing a million baht ($30,000) during a brawl with bunch of ladyboys!

You feel terrorized, irate, extreme anger, threatening, violated, mad, disrespected and degraded.... but "confused"?

Do some people only get "confused" when they catch their wives in bed with the plumber?

The story said the BIB were there to breakup the fight. Could it be he was confused why they took the bag and didn't give it back? He may not have been aware of their stellar reputation.

story goes "In the confusion a bag he was carrying went missing "

Obviously one of the LBs  snatched it or grabbed it when it fell off during fight.

It's not like he asked the BIB to hold the bag for him so he can fight better and they accepted it

It's not obvious at all. The cops were on the scene also according to the news story.. You may be one of the few on this forum that trusts them more than L.B.'s.. To me it's 50/50.

Ha. Famous actor my butt. Well, he's famous to us -- this dude lives in my condo. We all know him as "The spitter." And who TF carries that kind of loot around on walking street chatting up LBs at 4am, anyway. In any case, if they beat him up enough to have him stop spitting in the elevator, hell, I'll happily buy them a thank you beer. lol

Yeah pretty much a lot of nonsense.  Probably was hoping to sell the fake rolex he had in his bag.  Sounds like he became the mark
