The fact that one non-Chinese guy admitted to pushing in at immigration doesn't change that. Popular Post NoshowJones
1 hour ago, Shaunduhpostman said: Two True Tales of Chinese Related Place Taking Argy Bargy and Not Putting Up With it: At Don Mueang a few weeks back we had an hour wait in the queue for immigration processing. One guy, an American or Canadian, seemed to be Phillipino-American, it doesn't matter, I wasn't thinking about ethnicity, race, or any of it till he brings it up, and I see him walk up to one of the two queues with lines winding around out the doors and he stands next to it at about the 75% finished point in the queue. He's going to try and cut in front of this rather distracted looking nerdy Korean guy about two places ahead of me and I ask him, "Excuse me are you looking for something?" He says completely blamelessly, "Well, I'm just trying to see what my options are in getting through this queue." I'm like, "Your options?...(?) We have been waiting for an hour. Thats your only option." He's like, "Well, yeah, that's because the Chinese have 6 of their own queues and all the staff are helping them get through and not us." I'm like, "Well, then if you're Chinese, by all means, go for it, that would be the easiest way to do it. What are you standing here for? But cutting in front of Mr. Kim here and also cutting in front of me and the 100 others behind me is not an option." He then loses his slick-oh used car salesman cool and completely loses it, "Do you think I'm Chinese? Where the fock are you from? Are YOU Chinese!? I bet your mother is Chinese you prick!" I'm like, "Well, you are trying to jump the queue like you're Chinese, so what am I supposed to assume? So, hey, ya know, if the shoe fits why not wear it then a-hole! Maybe that will work in the immigration line for the Chinese! Maybe take my hint here that you can pass for Chinese, eh, maybe thats all thats required, That you just look Chinese and you'll be on your way and on your holiday in 5 monutes, eh?!" He just walks away to the only other queue processing non-Chinese and found an easier "option" some Japanese girls just defer to his cutting in front of them as tho they don't even see it or care as trained to behave by their society. I was at a Buddhist event in Katmandhu a few years ago. We were all out sitting on a lawn to receive teachings, and it quickly became packed. I had a small blanket and a backpack with my water, lunch etc and left it as my place marker while I went to the toilet. When I came back five minutes later, my blanket and bag were gone and many of the people who had been sitting with me had been cleared away, mostly Tibetan hill people, mostly old ladies, very sweet, giggly types, so they just let it all happen with a nervous giggle were now mostly sitting on each others laps, which is not unusual for them while a 10 by 10 foot or so tarp had been spread and this well dressed stern angry looking Chinese guy lording over it, no one sitting on it, nothing. I am not cowed by angry little 5 foot 4 people in suits, so I went right up to him, trying to contain my outrage and not bust him the jaw and said, "Have you seen my blanket and bag? I left them here a few minutes ago to go to the toilet and they are now gone." He wordlessly just points in a manner suggesting, "over there and you get out of here too," pointing to a spot at the very edge where people were sitting. I went and got my stuff and walked right back and sat right back down where I had been, which was now on his tarp. He starts having a snit, "You can't sit here! Who are you? Who are you with anyway!? You are not with my people! I never met you! I want to talk to your leader! Who are you with! You can't sit here!" I just ignored him and he finally gave up after 5 minutes of yelling at me making a complete ass of himself, the Tibetan ladies cracking up at his little Chinese shit fit. In the end about four people showed up to sit in area that could have had 15-20 Tibetans or any of the other nationalities. Point being, any excuse will do with these people, to push you out of the way. The next day, I'm out on the grass and security come up to me and I get searched. Me alone, they go through my bag, pat me down, find nothing and leave. It would not surprise me if the guy also reported me. So, I was, like the Chinese at Chiang MAi immigration in the OP, sitting on the grass previously. But as I saw, doesn't matter if you are there previously and are saving a spot, if its you and not them saving a spot then it doesn't apply. In any case they are pussycats, just hold your ground and ignore them. The Chinese need to be shown that their entitlements in their own country don't work in the rest of the world. That said, I have had more and more problems with people trying to cut in front of me in queues everywhere, Thais, whitey, Indians you name it at 7-11, BTS, etc. I think its probably my age, I now look like a real pushover, but I wonder if people are not taking a if-you-can't-beat-them-join-them attitude and just doing Chinese copycat stuff. I am usually quick to see the move to cut in front of me and I quickly move in And I am often able to cut in ahead of the queue cutters before their maneuver is completely executed. Some people become become pretty incensed that you would actually try and stand up for yourself and stop them. Hilarious, just an amazing world we live in today full of such colorful and wondrous characters! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 4 1 1

Formaleins
As if the CM immigration isn't bad enough without having now to fight off the Chinese queue jumpers! Boy that really is going to be fun and games as these buggers are masters at pushing in and jumping the queue, going to have to stand firm and not give them an inch. They behave like that all the time in China, just barging their way in to wherever they like, however, if you give as good as you get and don't back down they will usually give in as they do not seem to like it when it looks like it might turn physical. Popular Post jimn
I have given up trying to deal with them, now I just ignore them. Unfortunately because of this it makes me look as bad as them. I push through the hoardes of them waiting to come and go to Koh Larn island on Pattaya beach road. I push through them when they block the pavement waiting for the buses to take them away from Walking Street. I ignore the massive queue of them waiting for VAT refund at the airport. I dont care any more. Its their attitude that has brought this on them.

I have some Europeans/Americans cutting my queue too when I am one second slower in pushing my luggage bag into the scanner at airports. Sure, there are rude Chinese but there are also rude Americans too who like to push their way around. I even have Thai people cutting my queue when weighing fruits at supermarkets. So it's not confined to one race. Edited October 8, 2018 by EricTh

The Immigration guy on Friday told her that they only allow 70 per day. I do not know exactly how many were actually in the Mob that arrived, I did not sit there and count, but I know that the 1st group was right around 30, the 2nd one that arrived later and joins the others was maybe 10-12, maybe even 15. Again, I did not count, I just noticed them filtering into the line with the others. As far as s people complaining, I do not know as we was inside the Office. Yes, the education visa queue is the longest when I was there one week ago. It snaked right to the back of the building. Unfortunately, immigration grouped the retirement queue with this queue too. If so, then it's really unfair to expect the retirees and people with medical problems to compete with young student bullies to get one of the 70 queue tickets for the day. They really should go back to have separate queues for these services like they did at Promenada before Songkran. I went there on the second day at the new building. They lumped the education queue with the retirement queue. I reported in the imm thread. Not only that, you have to stand there for hours under the hot sun or rain. Its not blooming rocket science ! Just needs a seperate line for each type of visa, use cheap barriers to from the lines, have the lines well signed, and a Security guard there to stop the ignorant Chinese, and other queue jumpers. Job done. LOL. Have you gone to the new building yet? The queues are just beside the narrow one-way car road. They can only have a max of 3 queues. The cars need to pass through in the narrow car park. Promenada is a much better place for queueing.
