A British owner of a Hua Hin rental company praised the Thai police yesterday after they recovered one of his cars stolen by a Thai woman.

The renter - Chalisa Yaemrenu - was arrested with false plates on the Honda at a police checkpoint in Pattalung in Thailand's south in mid September.

Martin Sander, 58, and his Thai wife Sumalee Samoewan, 44, went to thank the police and the governor in Pattalung on Thursday, reported Banmuang.

Mr Sander explained that the vehicle was stolen in 2017 and in thanking the Thai police said: "It was great work to get this vehicle back to me. I thought I had seen the last of it".

I'm disappointed that there isn't any finger pointing. That said, I am glad he got his car back. Job well done by the BIB.

I was thinking the same thing.  Goodness, doesn't anybody feel the need to be more presentable these days?  I know it is warm and humid and a tropical country but it is an official photo and meeting.  One is cautioned to go to immigration offices dressed better than that
