Self drive?

Usually foreigners don't have the necessary driving license.

I must admit that I don't know the exact limitations for "Personal car" as the usual driving license is called (in Germany is was allowed to drive a 3.5 tons small truck with a car license).

For the rest you are simply right.

Can't remember seen anything like a self drive moving truck.

This man has very good references on facebook and is very reasonable. If needed I am sure he would gladly just give you the advice you need. He is from South Africa originally and speaks English. Here is the link to his facebook page. Like KhunBENQ mentioned I think for a commercial type vehicle there is a difference class license you need, that is probably why these vans and trucks are not easily rented. Good luck.

I paid last 2 times recent years around 10,000 - 13,000 baht to move 2 bikes and boxes by truck from CM to BKK as well Phuket to BKK.
