There's such a long way to go and so many teams in and around the top spots. I'm glad no Reds on this thread are stupid enough to give it 'the biggun' at this stage. Let's leave that to others who specialise in jumping the gun and embarassing themselves.

We still have frailties at the back to be concerned about. The most heartening thing is the confidence going forward, but as we know, this can change game to game.

For all the excitement about Cavani, Bruno's influence and the recent performances of Fred, I just get the feeling that the most important player, if he could go on an injury free run and get back to his best form, could be Bailly.

As @3 minus 2pointed out very observantly... Bailly looked absolutely world class when he first came. I believe he won 3 consective MOM awards in his first 3 Premier League games, almost unheard of for a defender? If we can see that player again, and if he can form a partnership with Maguire, we might be in with a good shout.

A few months into his first season at United Bailly was listed as the eighth fastest player in the Premier League, clocking a top speed of nearly 35 km/h.

I only remember Paul McGrath at the end of his career, so it's interesting to me how high a regard he was held in at one time.

Great YouTube channel this by the way @ChipButty . I recommend subscribing.

Tonight Team what do you think?

Perfect mate apart from I'd continue the McFred partnership and play DDG. No messing around with rotation. Let's win this.

Your a dreamer of the highest order and you will be lucky to get in the top 6. Thursday night football is the destination for utd. Solskjaer would be like Keegan was at newcastle if he got half a shout. Meltdown waiting to happen and the board know it too well.

Manchester United player ratings: Anthony Martial

I think Martial got a 3 because of his poor diving performance. Glad the ref didn't fall for it

Shameful!

Yeah should have been a 2 max

And who leads the league in rolling around on the pitch grabbing their ankle? Has to be either Bruno or Richarlison.

City were good and we were bad, but I've seen worse performances from us over the past few years!

IMO putting Henderson in the team sent the wrong message. If we were serious about winning this semi-final, it should have been a full strength team, with the exception of Bailly who still needs wrapping in cotton wool given his injury record.

Good idea from Pep to keep Sterling on the other side from AWB, because he has been completely pocketed in recent games.

I agree this did us no favours. And says a lot about his confidence in actually breaching your back line. The Cavani ban has come at the worst time, just when we beginning to see real competition for places.

What are you getting at? I already said it didn't so us any favours. But just because there has been the odd dive doesn't mean that the vast majority of pens we have been awarded weren't legit.

Or are you a disciple of @BangrakBob 's Great Stockley Park Conspiracy?

I'm always wary of conspiracy theorists. Look at the problems they are causing in Washington DC.
