Chiang Mai News reported on the arrest of a 56 year old South Korean national who police arrested at a downtown Korean restaurant.

Region 5 immigration officials said that Kyen Song Lee had overstayed his welcome in Thailand by 1,034 days.

Apart from now being illegal in the kingdom he was also running a website to encourage his compatriots to visit Chiang Mai.

He has been charged with overstay and illegal working.

Do you think that people who promote Thailand on the web should be given a free visa for life and be allowed to stay as long as they want ?

That is the youngest 56 year old I have ever seen!

If their actions are working and bringing in thousands monthly into thailand? Yes I do

The mooch was illegally working and probably not for free (get serious people) while laughing at immigration for 3 long years. This is simply criminal behavior. Crackdowns for the rest of us results.

Funny how some people assume this outlaw's "work" was to encourage law-abiding legal tourism.

He just as easily could be running a website on how to beat the Thai visa system illegally.

10 year ban, fine, and some street cleaning time sounds about right. Good riddance.
